Only rent here if you will stay only 1 year!! WARNING!!! DO NOT RENT HERE IF YOU ARE GOING TO STAY MORE THAN 1-year LEASE TERM. Avalon apartments are owned by Caldwell Bank and they run their apartments like any banker would... The apartments are all built using the cheapest possible materials and then Avalon charges the highest possible rent allowed by law... Since it is owned by bankers they are interested in one thing only MONEY MONEY MONEY… they do not care about morals, ethics, or humanity. I have lived here for approx. 2 years and am writing this review because I am disgusted by the rent increases. I've paid my rent on time in full every month for the past 22 months. Last year at renewal they increased our rent by 4% every month. This year they tried increasing it by 5% every month. When I argued with office that they were trying to raise my 1BR loft apartment to $2,284 when they are listing the same apartment currently vacant for $2,195 they advised me that is only for new tenants coming in. When I asked why they are raising my rent by soooo much again and does that mean they want us to leave? The response was "Oh no... we are raising it because we can by law". I explained just because you can by law does not mean you should as their rents are already above market for this area. Their response again was they can so they will. Typical BANKER response.. move here only if you would like to live in an apartment complex made by bankers to make as much money as possible for bankers.
