Resident 2015 - 2016

5/25/2016

Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere in East Brunswick. While the property is well kept and the apartment units are decent (particularly the newly renovated ones - beautiful kitchens), it is not worth dealing with the company that owns the property (JP Management, based out of Hackensack, NJ). 1. Want snow plowed in a timely manner? Not here. This winter, it took greater than 48 hours to remove snow from the parking lot after a storm, preventing residents from going to work and resulting in a visit from the chief of police. (Management's excuse? They didn't expect the snow - which was forecasted a week in advance, mind you. 2. Want laundry facilities? Me too - after all, it was advertised. But after management received a court summons for lack of payment, all the laundry facilities were closed without warning and until further notice. In fact, our clothes were locked in the laundry room mid-wash cycle. Management refused to talk to us on the phone, and the leasing agent keeps insisting she has no idea what is going on. I contacted the township code enforcer regarding violation of township rental ordinances, and only then was a loose timeline given for re-opening of the laundry room. 3. Want an insect-free apartment? Six months in, we now have roaches coming into our apartment. Management pays for pest control to come in once per month, but the infestation is severe elsewhere in the complex and they are having difficulty getting it under control. It would help if the apartments were properly sealed off - we have a 1.5 inch gap under our front door, gaps between all the floors/molding and below the baseboards, and unsealed/exposed pipes in the bathroom. I'm surprised we didn't have pests sooner. The staff who works on site (re: leasing agent) is not any better - the leasing agent leaves the office via car at least once an hour during her shift, she frequently forgets to do what she is supposed to (if you have a maintenance request, you're better off tracking down the gentleman who performs maintenance yourself), and she is downright nasty (I have heard her yell at numerous tenants, the opposite of professional and respectful). Overall, the company that owns this property is unprofessional and shady.
