Resident 2012 - 2015

6/16/2015

Recently I was on Yelp looking at restaurant reviews when I decided to look up my apartment building, just to see what people are saying. I noticed the negative reviews and decided to offer my opinion since I have lived at Claremont Towers for nearly three years now. 1. The apartment: I have a wall-to-wall carpeted, one bedroom which is very open and spacious for a reasonable price. My bedroom and living room have a large window, when combined with my balcony door, provides plenty of sun to light up the entire apartment. Also, I was never into looking at sunsets, but I live on the fourth floor facing west and the view over the mountains in the late afternoon is really nice to look at on my balcony, which is huge. 2. Maintenance: Whenever something needed repair in my apartment, the maintenance guys are there within a day, and sometimes the same day. The elevator does break down sometimes, but it is to be expected with 60-70 units in the building (also repaired within a day). And there are two of them. 3. Location: Everything I could possibly need is within one mile of my building; including grocery shopping, dining (Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Polish, wings, burgers, diners, fast food, etc.), post office, gas, banking, car wash, gyms, schools, movie theater, etc. Somerville is ten minutes away, New Brunswick (Easton Ave.) and Montgomery are fifteen minutes away, and the northern border of Princeton (airport, dealerships) is 15-20 minutes away. 4. The grounds: The parking lots are well lit at night with plenty of space and the landscaping is well maintained. Overall, the area is pretty quiet and I rarely hear any of my neighbors since the building is constructed with concrete between the units. 5. Expenses: The only negative aspect of the building is the heating/AC expenses. They do run a bit high because the units are electric. But the maintenance guys offer to apply insulating tape to the windows for the winter, which does help reduce the heating bill. For me, the above positives far outweigh the only negative I have noticed after nearly three years at Claremont Towers. I bump into people all the time who have lived there longer than I have, so there are plenty of satisfied tenants also The problem with writing reviews is that most "happy" don't write reviews when compared to those with negative experiences. But, to each his/her own; draw your own conclusions.
