It takes a village, they say, to raise a child. We found ours here. I don't need to write about how spacious the apartments are, how well things are maintained, how the amenities are more luxurious than we've ever experienced, because you can see that for yourself. You can also tell that Hoboken is a family town, with a possible median age of 3. What I want to tell you about is what I was surprised, and grateful to find at Park & Garden when we decided to make the move from a city (D.C). I should also note, for those on the fence over the suburbs, is that we tried that too, but we were overwhelmed with the isolation that a new suburb and new baby can bring. On an average summer Sunday night at Park & Garden, you'll meet about 20 kids and their families on the patio, maybe just finishing pool-time or tables of adults and kids - where you can't tell where one family starts and ends. On other nights, like one Friday a month, you might run into a resident run mom's night out event. On the M floor you'll pass kids and caregivers in the open space and the playroom. I love that it's impossible for us to walk out of our apartment and not see a few friends along the way. From the interactions we have with the staff on a daily basis, it's possible our daughter mistakes them as our family. We moved to Hoboken to meet other people in similar life stages, because this parenting thing isn't easy. We picked Park & Garden for the ammenities. But, we're staying another year (at least!), because we've found a great community and made it Home.
