Resident 2012 - 2016

7/27/2016

Pros: Location - nice setting with plenty of greenery within and surrounding the property. Spacious apartments/townhouses - There is more than enough space for most families, and the 2k+ sq.ft townhouses will provide those willing to pay with ample space. Maintenance - Prompt service, which is always a plus. Office staff - always nice, and very helpful. Noise - we never hear our neighbors. Either they are inherently quiet, or the soundproofing is exemplary. Cons: Location - the aforementioned greenery can be a thorn in your side if you park under a tree. Those lovely trees can be susceptible to storms, and your car might be pummeled by branches during a storm. Be conscious of where you will be parking should you choose to move here. That being said, this issue probably affects a minority of the residents. Dated/ill-fitting fittings - Doors don't always close easily. The floors are uneven (a minor quibble, granted). Again, probably due to age as opposed to being uneven from day one (one would hope). Either these issues are common here or they are not, and we were just unluckier than most. Maintenance - services requested (or work claimed that it would be done) isn't always done. Utilities - The water bill is shared with the rest of the community. Not a major issue as it pertains to the landscaping, since everyone benefits. However, small families paying more for water usage because of large families is not entirely fair. A timed thermostat would also be nice so that you don't always have to rely on your memory to reduce the AC/heat when you leave. Utilities #2 - You are forced to use Comcast for your Internet. FIOS, seemingly, is not allowed to deploy their network in this area. Comcast is very susceptible to the weather, so be prepared for endless outages during/after stormy weather. (I just lost connection when I was in the process of writing this review, and it's a nice day - but there was a storm a few days ago) Other thoughts - a postbox on the property would be useful. The office does allow you to drop off mail there to be picked up by the postman, but it's not quite the ideal situation. That said, the postbox beside the 7/11 around the corner suffices. Finally - we are happy here, but the continuous Internet issues will inevitably force us to leave - we rely on it for more than mere web surfing. This issue is outside management's control, so one cannot blame them, but it will force our hand in the end. I said I would not recommend the property, but it would be situational and I would mention the above issues and based my recommendation based on those. I chose to post anonymously because my identity is irrelevant.
