Have lived here for 2 years, and am quite happy here. It's hard to believe my experience is so much better than many of the other posters'. Best feature- quiet! It's a small complex, set back from Vail road. Because of the quiet, at night it is possible to hear the faint hum of traffic from I-80 and I-287, about a half mile away as the crow flies. There are numerous large shade trees, and the older (1960's) brick buildings are well constructed to keep noise between apartments down. Newer apartments aren't usually constructed this well. The floors creak sometimes, but other than that, it's really quiet. Maybe I have quieter neighbors, but I have been really pleased with the quiet here - no noisy parties, little traffic noise, hardly any noise between apartments. My 1 bedroom apartment (2nd floor) is sunny, with windows to SE and NW, with big windows in Dining Room and Living room. Closet space is not that great, however. I've had zero problems with rats or roaches. Windows are fairly new double-panes, and work well. Appliances are from the 80's probably, but work well. Gas heating for me (on 2nd floor) has been cheap ($11/mo), offset by higher A/C bills ($60/mo) in the summer, when the 2nd floor roasts. Parking is usually fine for me, as long as I don't get in after midnight; then, I park on the entry drive instead of near my building. The office staff treat me well as long as I'm polite. I've had only one issue (no hot water), and when I mentioned it, they fixed it the same morning. Grounds are well kept, maintenance staff are friendly. Compared to other places in the area, I am happy with the price because of the high quality living experience. I guess I'm lucky.
