I was new to renting in a complex and complex living wasn't what I was used to, but I think this place is better than most. I got my security deposit back in full, but I took care of the place. I had an issue with a leak in the bathroom because the morons who fix up the apartments did not grout properly. It was a bit of a battle to get that fixed, but they were nice about it and the guy below us was extremely tolerant and sweet (a 20-year tenant). The walls are thick, real hardwood floors, and lots of kitchen storage. Closet space is ok - there could be a little more.
The tenant turnover rate is high - when we moved in, our court was mostly corporate, and within a few months, it became mostly lower income and party people....possibly because a new semester started at Rutgers. It got noisier outside, and there were more parties but it seemed fairly safe, parking was available close to the door (not assigned), and I didn't witness any police drama. Management was responsive and Alicia in the office is very nice.
We had no bug issues except some random waterbugs in the bathroom when there was the leak.
I would recommend this place overall for someone looking for a bargain based on our experience in 2008 - 2009.
