I once lived there for three years. The pros and cons for me in no particular order. Pros: 1) Not as expensive as some of the better apartment complexes next door. You will save from 30-100 bucks a month. 2) They have radiant heat which is much healthier than forced hot air for allergy sufferers. 3) They have wood floors which is also healthier than wall to wall carpeting. 4) The price keeps away many of the folks on government assistance and the day-laborers types that drive down the quality of life in several complexes in the area. The manager is also very particular about who she rents too. If you have lived elsewhere, you will know how valuable it is to avoid dealing with the hoodlums that infest many apartments in the neighboring communities. 5) They do not allow pets which is a big plus for someone with severe allergies. 6) They fix things rather quickly. 7) I cleaned my apartment very well and they took less than 50 bucks off the security deposit which is much better than the crocked management of other complexes. 8) Randolph schools for folks with kids 9) Very good size apartments. 10) They cover heat, hot water and cooking gas which is not the case with some apartments in the area with the same price. CONS: 1) The long time manager has a coarse personality. I have never enjoyed dealing with her so much so that I was doing my own maintenance to avoid hearing her voice and dealing with her less than competent maintenance crew. 2) The apartments are very dated and not in the best of shape. The kitchen cabinets are very old, but they look ok with a fresh layer of paint. The bathroom was a disaster. Floor and wall tiles falling. A rusty circa 1950 sheet metal medicine cabinet that when you are taking a shower, the perspiration would mix with the rest and fall on your toiletries as brown droplets. Walls are cracking and the spackle and paint job must have be done by the 3 stooges. Note: A co-worker moved to a nearby complex and he is very happy with the shape of the apartment and management and he only paid 40 dollars more. 3) Snow removal is very bad. I once broke my arm sliding on the sheets of ice. They are very lucky that I am not the litigious type. 4) Parking is not outside your apartment, but that is the case with most neighboring complexes . All and all you will be doing better than 80 % of the complexes. In the Morris-Sussex area.
