the apts suck on a general level but seems like an oasis when you consider where they are located. it is typical to have dozens of police in or around the complex arresting someone. i once saw someone get hit by a car right outside the main entrance and some get shot on another occasion. it is also not uncommon to find yourself unable to get into the complex due to various police road blocks. it's definetly not a boring place to live (or for the faint of heart). however, since the the shut-down of blue spruce bar/ liquor store, there has been some huge improvments on the drunk vagrents passed out on the lawn. the landscaping is overwatered and there is a bad cockaroach problem. the maintenance people will wake you up at the crack of dawn every week. the staff is -------- and horrible. there is no insulation so it is freezing in the winter and super hot in the summer. if you choose to live here, don't do your laundry in the facility. and don't walk around outside at night. but there is the state fair/ flea market across the street. and rapid ride bus stop very close.
