Resident 2005 - 2014

2/21/2014

Management is hard to find. When you do find her she's sweet as sugar when you pay the rent but when you need something like oh, say.... the pipes bursting over your apartment and your carpet is soaked for the 3rd time she's a little snippy or avoids you like the plague. She ran off the only good maintenance guy, Jim, who got stuff done. Our apartment was overrun by ants. I mean I came home from work one day to find my counter top black with ants. I'm no June Cleaver when it comes to housework but I never let it get that bad to get ants but she said it was due to my shoddy cleaning and told us to get some Raid. The maintenance guy sprayed for ants but it was just a pump and spray the outside. The ants started to come through the air vents near the ceiling. I'm not the only BUILDING not just apartment but BUILDING that reported ants. All they did was put a few pest stakes in the ground and sprayed. An exterminator is REALLY needed but never called. The pool is supposed to be open year round. The past few years it's maybe only open a couple days per month and forget the hot tub. More like a lukewarm tub with really crappy jets. Who ever laid in the sidewalks needs to be fired. They are so uneven. With the lack of lighting it makes it fun to walk on at night. Our cars were broken into. My husband and I do contract work so we are gone for sometimes from weeks to months at a time. We apparently had a break in while we were gone. Fortunately we had most of our expensive stuff (tv's and such) in storage but we came home to find out that the original stories given to us by management was false. We were told that a window had been jimmied open and the screen torn with the bushes smashed. There are no bushes in front of our place anymore.. hasn't been for a while. The windows looked fine. According to a few of our neighbors, who were surprised to see us because they thought we moved out and this guy with a KEY moved in, said he had been in and out often. We got charged for their microwave being stolen. When we came home this last time for the last time we found our back bathroom had been flooded and the ceiling tiles had gotten so saturated with water they fell on to the sink and floor making a big mess. The insulation were hanging from the ceiling like a weeping willow tree and the walls black with mold which I'm allergic which made our last few nights there very unpleasant. (See photo below. This was taken as we were cleaning up) Apparently the guy upstairs moved out months ago and the plumbing broke. When maintenance guy came to investigate he looked at our place then ran upstairs. He came back and said that the gaskets and connectors had eroded away which caused the flood and upstairs was messed up too... uh HELLO I thought those were supposed to be checked between tenants and empty apartments checked for problems from time to time. Management said if we gave permission to check our apartment once in a while this problem wouldn't have happened. How bout you check on the empty apartments if you find a problem then call us. The parking lot is being slowly eroded away from the arroyo (basically a flood control run off) In a couple years that parking lot next to it is going to be gone the way they keep after it. For the amount of money we blew on that place and the higher the rent got I expect better service. Overall you're better off not living here. Why they haven't fired Terra is beyond me. On the upside it does provide a pretty view of the Organ Mountains and a decent walk to Calichie's which is an awesome ice cream stand.
