I will start off by saying, there aren't a lot of apartments to choose from out here in Hawthorne. With that being said... we lived there for a little over 2 and a half years. These apartments are fairly priced.. but there are many reasons behind this. One, if you like your home being any less than 85 degrees in the summer, do not move here. We had our swamp cooler "fixed" and fixed.. and believe it or not, we were pleased when they got it to cool our home to 85. Terrible. The cooler is in the kitchen... another fail. No air circulates through the back of the apartment.. hence, miserable sleeping conditions. Second.. it was my husband and I.. that's it. And our prplane bill averaged about 150 dollars.. in the summer!! Average in the winter was a disqusting $275-$300. Black mold behind the bathroom walls was the last straw. Saved your money and rent a home.. believe it or not.. after utilities, a house will still be cheaper.. but much more pleasurable.
