Resident 2012 - 2013

AVOID RANCHO DESTINO APARTMENTS IN LAS VEGAS Rancho Destino aparments is a place you probably DO NOT WANT TO LIVE. Here are a few of the reasons why, based on personal experience; If you live at Rancho Destino, you will likely be woken up as early as 7 am in the morning with blowers from the yard people. These noisy blowers start VERY EARLY and are loud. The windows do not keep the noise out. Super inconsiderate. If you live at Rancho Destino Apartments, will will have maintenance working in other apartments, hammering, drilling, banging, at 8 am in the morning. They will wake you up, and they will not give you notice they are working in apartments next to you, above you, or below you. It doesnt matter which apartment, you Will hear them as the walls carry sound when being drilled into, banged on, and otherwise being worked on. Again, very inconsiderate. If you live at Rancho Destino apartments you iwll also have DOGS Barking and defecating around the property. You may hear dogs barking at midnight, while you are asleep. There are lots of LARGE loud dogs because they promote that at the complex. Rancho Destino apartments does not appear to have any manager that lives on site. People will be outside having parties till late into the night and they are not always considerate of other residents since often they may be drinking. The police have been called to stop it because there is not anyone on site apparently to manage the place after hours. Its not fun to have people making noise at 1 am during the week. Getting towed is another problem. The Tow Truck Company comes through regularly to tow your car if you violate any parking issues at any time. This will cost you over $200.00. That may include you having an expired registation or out of state plate. Big late fees are another problem here and can be as high as 10 percent of your rent. The office can be closed on the weekend or sometimes during the day when they are suppose to be there, so you may or may not be able to pay your rent. They are aggressive with late fees even if its a holiday weekend. This really ads to the cost of your apartment. There is no rent drop that has ever been shown. There does not appear to be an outgoing mail slot either. A 60 day notice is required to vacate, but they will tell you at the end of your lease after the 60 days. They then may crank the rent way up to around 10-30% HIGHER RENT if you do not sign a new lease. Its basically a trap. Once you are in there, they give you a letter raising your rent after your lease comes to an end to a higher amount, based on if you sign a 3-6-9-12 month lease. It can be raised a lot. Many apartment complexes just go month to month but if you want to go month to month your 800.00 rent payment my now be 900.00 or 950.00 dependin on the rent incease. It varies for everyone. Essentially, if you decide to move, and dont give them a 60 day notice, they will then take the money out of your deposit for the higher rent, not the rent you are paying now.. We have seen many people move out. Turnover of apartments is common, which means that these 8 am wake up calls by the maintenance are not uncommon. Its a hassle to live at Rancho Destino Apartments for these reasons and it is NOT RECOMMENDED you live there. There was a mild smell of mold in the apartment as well. Like a musty smell. Barking dogs, people up by the pool at late hours having parties, no active on site management, early wake up calls at 7 am with blowers and yard people, maitenance banging on your walls next door at 8 am, a management office that closes and isnt open during regular business hours at times , getting towed and paying 200 or more dollars to get your car back, and having to live with the smell of urine from animals- if this sounds fun, this is your place! Rent increases that are way up there at the end of your lease is what you have to look forward too. The cost to move is high and moving out is high for anyone. So it would be best to find a place you can live long term with people who are good to you. The value is just not there. The hidden costs of towing charges if you get one, losing the quiet enjoyment of your apartment by inconsiderate maitenance people at early morning hours, dogs barking, urine smell, and the costs of higher rent and deposit charges on move out, just dont make this a great , not even a good choice for an apartment. I have read these other reviews and maybe that was a long time ago. This is not an awesome place to live, not even close in my opinion. It is recommended you AVOID Rancho Destino Apartments for these reasons. There are so many great choices to live in Las Vegas. This is NOT one of them. As for these other peoples experience on here they sure look all happy and giddy. This is a real post from someone who has been there and is letting you know what goes on in this complex. The complex is located off Flamingo and on Durango. Avoid it.
