Resident 2009 - 2010

3/10/2010

I have lived in the apartment complex for a little over a year. I have a studio apartment, and absolutely love it. The bathroom is very large, with a jacuzzi tub. The kitchen, while not real large, has a dishwasher, microwave, full size refrigerator, garbage disposal and electric stove. There is not a lot of drawer space, but adequate cupboards. There is tile in the entryway, bathroom, and kitchen, the rest is carpeted. The bedroom is in a loft area, so your bedroom and living room are not all one big room. Everything is electric, and the water is included (you have your own water heater). The heat and central air are provided by a heat pump. Beware, though, if you turn your heat down to save energy. When you raise it, do NOT raise it up more than 2 degrees at a time, as it will kick in your auxiliary heat (which is very expensive). My electric bills have been between $50 and $200, depending on the month. Management (Bob - I haven't dealt with anyone else) is very nice, is responsive to my needs, and is always courteous. Chet, the security guy, is also very nice, and is there most evenings during the week (he is entitled to a day off too). Not sure about the weekends, as I am not there then. There are only 3 things that I have an issue with at the apartments. One is the parking. The lots are located a bit away from the building, but they are patrolled, from what I am told. There is always a spot somewhere, though, and this is only a problem on real rotten weather days. Second is that the building is not in a very good area, but the police station is about a block and half down the street, which makes me feel safer. The last thing is the centipede problem, but I see from reviews of other apartment complexes that this complex is not alone in that respect. Bob treats the apartment whenever I let him know that they are back, so he is doing his best. I am told that they like damp basement areas (my apartment is on the ground floor, and partially inground), which is not really the management's fault. All things considered, I find that this is a very nice place to live.
