This review is more on the interesting line than an actual review. We lived at Northway11 about 25 years ago. We'd come from a student dump in Troy (I worked in Clifton Park), so although this was a higher rent (expected) it was a lot of apartment for what we paid. It seemed an older property. We keep to ourselves, but a friend moved in nearby during our stay. We were there about 3 years. At that time they allowed pets, and as we had a well-behaved persian, it was perfect. Maintenance was pretty good. I only seem to remember a lightsocket issue that they needed to take care of. Otherwise, outside of the filters, we were left alone. Our heat, water and trash was included, which we knew was rare. We lived in a unit that had a garage underneath. Our neighbors were quiet. The only think we heard was their garage door and a slight buzz in our phone socket when their phone would ring. The biggest problem at the time? It had this horrible orange and brown SHAG rug that was downright fugly. I found the living room a bit small, but OK. We knew we had it pretty good, save for slipping through the stop sign on icy days by the Malta Mall. I don't believe there was an onsite rental office. We were met at the apt. at move in and move out. We paid our rent at the bank at Malta Mall. Never heard from them except for the filter or when the rent bill was mailed. We didn't have a trash disposal. We liked the deck. It was hilarious when, on a couple of occasions, we would open our door and there would be a squirrel right outside, looking in. Our persian was very curious, and the first time he was terrified of this squirrel. Later he would just watch it. We had one person who would park illegally, where we could hit him when backing out, but we were careful. We moved because I got a job in Latham, so we moved to what looked like very nice apts. at Doorstone Drive. Those were horrible - we had to insulate the windows and the wind would blow the plastic. The A/C never worked. At Northway11, A/C was not an option. I'm pleased to see they are still going, as it was a large complex, and save for updating, seems pretty much the same. Our only complaint is that they kept the $400 deposit after we moved out, despite it being in great shape. They'd said it would be mailed to us. However, we were very young and inexperienced, so we just thought they found something so didn't fight it, because our Troy landlord had been crooks and kept our deposit, despite our arguing about it. Therefore, Nwy 11's keeping our deposit may have been kind of our fault - they may have lost our forwarding address....but again, this was 25 years ago! We left not only due to my job, but because we got frozen into our garage here. We decided to move start a fund to move to the desert within a year; a goal we reached. Don't have to shovel sunshine.
