When I was an owner in Parkchester South Condos , my husband and I really enjoyed it an because of financial reasons and the maintenance fees rising so high we had to move. We now live in Savannah Georgia but we often think about what good times we had in Parkchester. I Cannot forget sitting on the benches there looking at the beautiful Greenery, the lovely flowers in blume and Parchesters beautiful fountain water views. Oh how I enjoyed it! Maintenance was always kept up nicely but once again! The hoa fees kept rising!

Terrible! Do not move here. They have keyless entry and you will be locked out of your apartment weekly due to electrical problems!!!!!! If you like living like that then move here. Management never calls back or deals with any complaints! Save your money. Water goes out weekly, leaks throughout the entire building. On the best part is, during COVID 19 they were calling all tenants to make sure they were paying rent on time !!!!

I am a condo owner and residing here for 20 years. I am extremely unsatisfied with the approach, attitude and acts of towing companies that Parkchester is contracted with. The tow company is 100% aggressive with tenants, guests and whoever comes this way. I have seen worst, driver with engine on waiting for their partner going to the bank and the tow driver jacks up the car while driver is inside. One good neighbor was protesting and Parkchester security guards were all over him as if he was the criminal. They even handcuffed him because he stood against the atrocities of the tow truck driver. Every time tow truck picks a car, security comes in a dozens as if we pay high common charges to help the tow trucks. Some old time neighbors complained that sometimes the mobile Parkchester security guards even call towns and have them pick up cars and it's a mutual interests sharing. The amount of DPS cars and guards that Parkchester have, I don't think they need tow company. They can do their own policing if then want to and that way keeping the guards occupied instead of goofing around in pairs and groups.

Good place to live short to medium term. Parking is a lil iffy until you fully learn the system. you'll get your drain unclogged in a jiffy, your electrical problem addressed, and water turned off frequently, but never any good notices of preventative maintenance. Good luck getting your apt painted without 3-4 mths notice and 100 calls to the mngt office. In all fairness, it's a great place to live, but only because of the amenities, not because of Parkchester Preservation Management.

The management office will do their best to disguise any deceiving manaeuvers to get more cash out of you. I stayed there for less than a year right behind Macys/ Post office where its incredibly loud. I broke my lease, paid the $1500 fee and returned my keys. I received a letter from them stating that I OWED them $108 for some garbage removal which i accepted because I should have taken everything out, my BAD..I PAID IT.!!! About a year and a half later I received a suspecious call from their collection department stating I OWED THEM The month of March, plus some additional fees totaling $1600. Im going to court with these clowns who are attempting to rob me of moneys I DO NOT OWE THEM!!! Becareful if you ever move into this place and if you do so, keep every record, every conversation, and every incident recorded somewhere. I'm sure they're going to try to attempt to have me pay for repairs the property was already due for.

                Those who post negative reviews.

Seems like those dishing out the negative reviews are the riff raff which management is trying to weed out of this one once great community, to those who say they are leaving don't let the door hit ya on the way out. I've lived in Parkchester for over 10 years and the only problems i've had are the few undesirable tenants who loiter, own dogs, and make noise through-out parkchester, probably all welfare section-8 tenants condo owners are renting to. Keep up the great work Management! And by the way have you seen the enormous amount of beautification done in the North complex? Plus the island are all being renovated by the city! Things are looking up!

                    Affordable and convenient

If you are looking for affordable living in NYC, easy accessibility to Manhattan, and shopping whether clothing or food then Parkchester is the place to consider. Sure, from time to time you will hear noise at night, and the parking isn't the best, but for the price it's the way to go. There is an express bus and access to major highways. Don't be fooled Parkchester is secret gem that is slowing being polished. Now, with the economy as it is Parkchester is a smart choice despite some silly blah...check it out!

                      A teenaagers point of view

The parking here is horrorific! Sometimes my mom has to circle around for 2 hours just to find a parking space. The walls are definitely thin because I can hear the couple next door arguing and I always hear the other neighbors music. I live by the water fountain, and the noise outside wakes me up early in the morning. I think its the garbage man, but I can also hear the little kids yelling downstairs too. Maybe its just in my building, but everyone is really nice here and always say hi or have a good evening when going on and off the elevator.

Really? Run as fast as you can

Parkchester is a community of employed people but it's OVERCROWDED. I have lived here for four months and cannot wait to leave. My cable does not work in the evenings. I called the cable company. They send out a technician. The cable box is fine. The problem is the low signal that's coming from the outside box. The technician explained to me that the community is overpopulated and therefore the boxes on the outside are overused, especially in the evenings when people come home. The neighborhood is noisy, too much traffic, paper thin walls, it's not worth it.

                            Too Noisy

I live in an Apartment near the Movie Theater. The garbage trucks are so loud, you have to pause your music or t.v., until they are done. The walls are so thin, I heard the newborn that lives above me being conceived. Parchester Mgmt. is not happy to help you when things fall apart. My bathroom tile started peeling and falling apart. They sent an obese worker, who could barely fit in the bathroom to replace the tile. He threw grout all over (the walls, shower curtain, bath tub, floor). The stuff dried and hardened and it hell to clean up. The neighbor smells are atrocious. I don't know what is being cooked in these apartments, but it does not smell appetizing. It is safe and they keep up the Grounds (beware extremely noisy leaf blowers). Parking is non-existent. I have seen fist fights over parking spaces.

                                Not Impressed

I recommend Parkchester and I don't recommend it. I was very excited about my apartment. It was big and the price was decent. However two weeks after my move in, I had to call management to exterminate my apartment because there were lots of roaches. Management is great, always responsive, but the roach infestation is horrible, walls are too thin, I can hear a pin drop in someone elses apartment floors down from me if I turned my television off. Teenagers hangout in the area all hours of the night and are noisy. The grass isn't well kept and parking is a nightmare. Pets are not allowed, but Section 8 is, which brings down the property even more. I recommend it to those who are looking for great management and a large apartment for a decent price. I also recommned it if you don't mind teenagers hanging out all hours of the night and roaches becoming apart of your household, you don't care to have pets and you don't own a car.

                                    Parkchester condominium

I rented a Parkchester condominium apartment 4 months ago. For renting i had to go through the south board approval, which took about 3 weeks. Agent Krystyna Jusman and broker Zakir Khan of Parkchester Real Estate helped me throught the approval process. Nice apartment, quite and safe. Rent only $925 for 1 bedroom. 4 minutes walking distance to subway, #6 Parkchester station. I really love the area. Lisa.
