Overall, I was really happy living at Gun Hill. While it is true that the front staff isn't always friendly, I don't have any complaints about the apartment or the grounds. In fact, the snow removal was incredible when I lived there. Compared to sidewalks on Cornell's campus- which never really gets clear of snow until it melts- Gun Hill was incredible. They do a great job keeping sidewalks and the parking lot clear. They also keep everything extremely clean. I found that if you were friendly to the front office, they were generally nice to you. I'm actually really sorry I have to move out. The bus was such a wonderful service. While it doesn't take you many places on campus, it certainly gets you up the hill and costs nothing. It's a great bonus. The bus drivers are also extremely nice.
I also always felt really safe at Gun Hill. There's lots of lighting (which makes it pretty at night) and the walkways are very open. Gun Hill's further away from Collegetown than other locations near Cornell, so there's not a lot happening at night around the complex. This makes it a very quiet, welcoming environment for those who don't like a lot of noise at night.
Overall, I really liked Gun Hill and would recommend it to anyone.
