I recently moved here, remembering looking at the place years ago when they had a 3 year wait list.
Now, they can't hold tennants. Apartment opening up all the time. Why?
At first glance the place looks nice, fruit trees (never maintained, bug infested) etc. on the property. Look closer, garbage hidden in the bushes. Signs hanging off their posts. Wires hanging out the gutters (yea, I don't even want to guess), trim missing from the roof lines, screens broken and leaning against the doors. Windows and door that can't lock cause of dents in trim or warping of rain soaked wood.
Worse of all, electric heating. Imagine hotel heaters to heat an entire apartment. The noise will slowly drive you crazy. The washer/dryer in the apartment is the smallest(and oldest) stacked unit. I can't wash more then 3 pairs of jeans without stalling the washer. Oh, and they charge an extra $65 a month for it. (and yea, they don't have any other option, except the local rundown laundramat)
Now lets get to maintenance. None (well, they did change a light bulb once) that's about it.
Reported half-a-dozen issues which were ignored. Everything from leaking faucets to running toilets, to leaks through the ceiling. (see a trend here?). Can you say Black mold?, I can and see it in the bathroom trim.
As someone else mentioned, they never preped the apartment. When I took the place, I complained about a giant stain on the carpet (ya think they would have cleaned it at-least), instead I hear, "Yes, we'll have someone take care of it", I'm guessing that means after I move out... Its been nine months already.
