Awful Customer Service
We read the reviews and, against our better judgment, we rented an apartment at 33 Gold St. While the apartment was reasonably sized for the price, especially in the location that it is in, the management company is atrocious to deal with. The staff is rude, disorganized and corrupt. They must pay their reps bonuses to keep deposits. We moved out in August, and it's the middle of October with no return. We just started a dispute that we are willing to take to civil court to get this money returned. The apartment itself was a typical NYC apartment. Nothing luxury. Thin walls. Loud college student neighbors. Crappy kitchen with apartment sized appliances. However, we had oversized windows and the layout was such that we were able to build a wall and convert a one-bedroom to a two, with large bedrooms. Construction going on on Gold Street made for a very noisy apartment, especially at night. The construction was not Thurcon's fault, though, and should be over relatively soon now that the apartment complex next door is mostly finished. Laundry in the building is unreliable, so prepare to use a local laundry service (less expensive than drying your clothing twice!) Overall, the building itself was fine, and so were our neighbors (if you don't mind college kids). I would never rent from Thurcon again though, just because they are horrific managers.Share This Review
