The West River House is an enjoyable place to live. It's in a wonderful location, the staff couldn't be nicer. It's well kept. I enjoyed living here so much, I may move back if a bigger apartment is available.See More >

This place is just bad. Noise, rats, and management and leasing teams with no morals. Management will lie through its teeth to justify rent increases. Do yourself a favor and speak with several existing tenants before considering this apartment building. If management tells you thatSee More >

I'm sorry you had such a negative experience.I am not sure who you dealt with while living here but we take all complaints very seriously and do our best to address them. Honestly, we currently have 5 vacancies in the entire building. I'd be happy to show our vacancy report to anyone who would feel more comfortable with that rather than my stating the fact. As for pests, we do regular extermination in the entire building and have not had any complaints in the past year that I know of. This is the first I am hearing of paper thin walls. We went above and beyond to ensure privacy when the building was constructed. We used double the amount of sheet rock required by the city and siding was applied to the studs to suppress sound even further.

Horrible experience living at WRH. Management has lied to me and others in the building many times. The leasing office can't be trusted. They will tell you that there are waiting lists to get into the building to justify rent increases. This could not beSee More >

I am not aware of the particulars of your case but it is not our standard practice to lie to our residents. If that were true we would have an empty building. We address all concerns and take appropriate action as needed. As for noise, we did have some construction going on around us. We did file numerous complaints against the developers and construction company for violations of the permits. That is the only recourse the city allows us. We encourage all of our residents to call 311 when issues beyond our control are affecting them. I'd be happy to review any move-out charges you feel were "trumped up" and refund anything that proves to be unjust. We currently have exactly 5 vacancies. I would be happy to provide a vacancy report to anyone who would rather see the actual statistics than rely on anyone stating the fact.

Be Aware: The management company probably will not disclose this to any prospective tenants. The building behind West River House on Broadway is going to demolished and a new apartment building is going up. If you have read other posts complaining about noise,See More >

We can't control what or where new buildings gets built in NYC but we do aggressively file complaints when when the terms of their permits are being violated. We also encourage our residents to call 311 when issues beyond our control are affecting them, including noise from construction.

Manhattan Skyline provides options for anyone who wants or needs to break their lease. They can either assign the remaining portion of your lease to someone else or you can surrender the apartment and we will find a new tenant. However, their are always penalties for breaking a contract which is what you are doing when you break your lease. The terms for both are clearly stated in the leases that we provide and our tenants sign.

DON'T BE FOOLED. This building has a nice-looking roof and lobby, but it's a horrible place to live. The walls are paper-thin, so you will hear neighbors' children nonstop. The super is a total --- who likes to do everything as cheaply as possible, and blamesSee More >

Family nepotism within Manhattan Sklyine staff, corporate greed w/exhorbant annual rent increases, and an awful Super that believes he walks on water. That about sums up the experience of this horrible non-luxury building.

Horrible beyond belief. Loud. Paper thin walls. Air quality from construction is horrendous. Do not live here with kids or elderly - they will become ill. Staff is nice and considerate. Gym renovation now slated for 2015 - 18 months late.

Management sent an exterminator and building staff to every apartment in the lower floors. All appliances and air conditioners were pulled and checked and all possible entry points in the apartments were sealed. Traps were left in affected areas and the handful of mice that were caught were swiftly removed. We checked for additional entry points in the common areas of the building, specifically the garage and basement, to make sure they were sealed. Throughout the process, the exterminator remained in the building for many hours each day 2-3x week until the problem was eliminated. There have been no subsequent complaints. We do routine exterminator walkthroughs a minimum of two times/month. For any further questions, please contact Ryan Sabet - Building Manager - Manhattan Skyline - 212-408-0619 or [email protected]

I lived in this building for 5 years. At the beginning, it all "appeared" fine and I justified the HIGH rent to its convenient location: being one block from Broadway, being close to the subway station, and around the corner from Zabars, etc.See More >

Rats were never an issue in our building, but rather, the surrounding areas. We partnered with the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to get the vermin out of the immediate vicinity of the building. DEP sent crews to clean and poison the catch basins while DOT sent crews to fill in manholes and cracks in the roads and sidewalks, which may have been entry points for the vermin. We also partnered with The Doe Fund, and thank them for their stepped up efforts in the area surrounding 424 West End Ave. This collective vigilance paid off, and there have been no subsequent reports.
