Resident 2008 - 2009

7/6/2009

Upon moving in, I was very excited to be living at Park Point (first apartment, washer and dryer in-suite, etc.) As time progressed, however, I began to realize the ugly truth about this shoddily made, shoddily run complex. The walls in building 200 are paper thin. eavesdropping on your neighbor is unavoidable, no matter how much you try to block them out. Upon peeling up posters while packing to move out, chunks of paint and drywall rip up despite removing the adhesive as carefully as possible. Not only that but in boasting that the apartments are fully furnished, they neglect to tell incoming tenants just HOW uncomfortable (and LOUD!) the furniture really is. As well as all of these downsides, the entire apartment complex shares one external IP address, making for less than reliable internet, as for a time we were all made to verify our humanity to google in order to even use the website. The office staff members are incredibly rude, notifying tenants of packages received at the office up to a week after they are delivered, which is unacceptable. It took over a week to replace one part of our washing unit, and i had to call the leasing office TWICE to even get someone to look at the washing machine. When there are concerts or any sort of functions in the courtyard of Simone Square, tenants are pushed to the back burner and are told to fend for themselves where parking is concerned. Never mind paying $1080 per month to live there, we don't get reserved parking spots. The only good to Park Point is the restaurants and the security. restaurants like lovin' cup and king david's add some much needed positives to the complex, and the security guards are extremely polite. i would much rather deal with them than anyone who works in the office. all in all, i'm glad i did not renew my lease for the 2009-2010 year, and am looking forward to leaving as quickly as humanly possible (not to mention finding a two-bedroom townhouse for less than the price of a one-bedroom apartment).
