Resident 2012 - 2013

5/28/2013

Initially, I was impressed with the apartments at Hunters Creek. The "model apartment" is beautiful, with updated cabinets and appliances, leading you to think that all of the other apartments must be this great. FALSE! My disappoint started on the day I moved into a MUCH, MUCH older looking apartment with ancient (and rather tacky and dirty), ugly white cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms. Some small problems popped up throughout my year there, like a leak in one of the closets. Maintenance responded promptly each time, but it took several trips before the issue was finally resolved. One of the biggest issues I had throughout the entire time I was there was the accessibility of the office staff. Before I moved in, every single one of my phone calls was answered promptly. However, as soon as I became an official tenant, I didn't have a SINGLE phone call throughout the entire year answered... I always had to go into the office to speak to someone about whatever issue I was facing and there were several times that they were out of the office during normal business hours for some reason, which I found very unprofessional. It is quiet with all the windows closed, but when outside or with open windows, you will hear some traffic coming from Ronald Reagan Highway. I was also on a lower level apartment and the floor above my was SO squeaky when the neighbors were walking around, sometimes waking me up at night. Be aware that NO FEES are included in the rent, so each month there are several charges for water and trash that seemed higher than I expected each time (always about $40-50). By the end of my stay, I was ready to get out! My biggest disappoint came when I received my "deposit" back... I left the place in very nice condition and only received a small fraction of it back. I did call to clarify some of the charges, getting vague answers to my questions. As irritating as it is, I'm not going to put myself through the frustration of dealing with them anymore to try and get any more of my money back. Overall, the apartment was just WAY overpriced for something that I thought was pretty crappy with so many other, much better options in Cincinnati and I STRONGLY suggest steering clear of Hunter's Creek!
