Resident 2008 - 2010

You could probably do better

There are good things and bad things. It depends upon your situation. I wouldn't live here forever but it suits my needs for the time and I know the property company (K&D) is good and the property managers here are fair.I would recommend living here for the management alone, if you can deal with the other stuff. Good things: Location: It's near all the major highways, close to Downtown etc. Maintenance: Everything gets fixed in a timely manner plus they're friendly and courteous Appliances: Comes with stove, dishwasher, garbage disposal Management: Awesome. Helpful. However they will have your car towed if your plates are expired Security: Always there if you need them Utilities: Included (except for electric) It's always nice and toasty in the winter. I have my window open right now! Parking: Lots Bad things: Location: Don't go outside after dark. Nothing but other apartments, rapid station and what I can only describe as an "illegal drug-warehouse." Don't move here if you don't have a car. Tenants: Most are tolerable some are scary at best. Do not move here if you are white and racist. You will be very unhappy Noise: Noise from all over. Loud rap music. Other apartments above, below and next door. Noise from Detroit Rd. You can't get away from the trains/rapids. They surround the building. People like to scream all hours of the night in the parking lot as well. Pool: It's disgusting. I wouldn't even put my toe in it. Fitness Center: It's a closet with a weight bench and an ancient treadmill Laundry: 4 washers/4 dryers (1 usually broken) for 70 units. You do the math Bugs: There are lots of them. Cock roaches, bedbugs, fruit flys. On the plus side however, management is really good about getting a professional exterminator to spray as soon as you have an issue.. Elevators: Ancient. Broken all the time. Sometimes get stuck between floors. The smell: You can and will smell everything on your floor right from the comfort of your own apartment. Bring incense. Price: $557. Not worth it. You could find a 1 bedroom in Lakewood for $400/month
