Resident 2021

???????????????????? My wife & I moved in a basement apartment of The Larchmere apartments in April of 2021! We were accepted, paid and signed our lease relatively quick! Our rent was 825/month with no utilities. When we first moved in everything seemed fine for about the first month. As time passed we started having small maintenance issues. First the ceiling paint and paint on the walls of our bathroom begin to chip and hang due to excessive moisture with no ventilation to help things dry. I contacted maintenance several times and it took a lil over a week for maintenance to actually come attempt to fix it. Then we began having plumbing problems, it took several calls and about another week before they came out to work on that. I begin seeing mold on the top of the refrigerator & in the bathroom on the shower walls and on the floor near the sink. I called maintenance several times to place a work order and called the emergency maintenance hotline who told me mold is not an emergency. They never did anything about the mold. 1 night My wife and i began feeling extremely ill and couldn't tell why. We… See More>

When I first applied here, i Called numerous times and left voicemails with no call backs, so i assumed i wasn't accepted. About a month later, I got a call From the office asking me why I was no longer interested in the apartment. I let them know, I was (unfortunately) still interested, but after leaving about 3 to 4 voicemails, and not hearing back I had assumed that I wasnt approved for the application to move forward. After that call, a week goes by and I hear nothing back, so I called them again. This time I get destiny on the phone. From that point on I was mostly dealing with her, she did seem somewhat friendly but with an attitude at the same time, so she just gave me a very weird and uncomfortable vibe. But I was desperate to leave where I was, and move over there to what I had assumed was, going to be a nicer area. From that point on, it was basically me trying to reach out, and getting lucky if someone got back to me. All of this should have deterred me away from these people. But as desperate as I was,… See More>

Lived there for 5 years. I abruptly left because my apartment was infested with roaches. Do not I repeat DO NOT move into these apartments unless you want roaches. Property management is terrible, the parking is terrible. Do not move here.

The worst experience by far. I been here a year complaining about no hot water. I pay $950 a month there is no reason this problem haven't been fixed. At least twice a month they turn the water off for at least 5-8 hours big inconvenience. I called asked to speak to manager multiple times no calls back. They promised me an apartment on shaker square stuck me on buckeye which is in Cleveland with a lot of violence going on outside noice, gun shots, screams. They also promised me security to park my car right in front of camera my car gets hit and they had no footage so how safe are you.

For the price and location is a great apartment and the fact that everything's included. But... Maintenance takes forever to do anything. Phyllis the property manager can be very rude an unpleasant at times. I'm a current resident and looking to move when my lease is up. Although they do provide Pest Control the building still has roaches. I have asked for replacement microwave for 6 months and have yet to receive it. The elevators are super slow I mean super slow. Even on one occasion I got stuck in an elevator which is absolutely nuts. The building has like a mix residency some Section 8 some pay. I guess since they're like continually improving improving the of the building they randomly shut off the water without notice. This is my first and only year at Shaker Hall apartment.

Shaker Hall has been the worst apartment I have ever lived in. For starters when my case manager who btw referred me to this garbage called to schedule an appt for viewing the property manager never showed. The second time she was very loud, ------ and obnoxious. Instead of her showing me the apartment the cleaning lady showed it to me. Once moving in I realized I didn't have a peep hole which I thought was standard and it took a month to install after several times of asking. The elevators rarely work, they're out of code, the apartment has several code violations that seemed to have passed section 8's inspection, they go through maintenance men like humans go through clothes, the management company is very nasty and unprofessional. To too it all off they have a misleading website in which they claimed they remodeled. This building is in a somewhat decent area but the management is just as ------ as the tenants. I can't wait til my lease is up. This building is ridiculous. Would give ratings of zero but not allowed.

This is one of the worse apartments in Cuyahoga county. The manager is a liar, thief and alleged drug addict with a gambling problem. There are folk that have been waiting for a 2 bedroom apartment yet every crack head that asks for a 2 bedroom has one. She has been seen exiting residents'suites after business hours. There is a resident that assists her in stealing from others. The maintaince man is a thief also he collects rent from new tenants that are not aware he is not authorized to do so. He charges fees for emergency maintaince problems. The property managers supervisor is young inexperienced and ignorant as hell; she is not approachable either. Good luck getting in touch with the owner of the building, he has taken his telephone number out of the telephone book. only move here if you have no other choice. The laundry room has a few working machines; it is no problem to the manager she washes clothes at her daughters house.

shaker square apartments go up on rent every year and the door buzzer sometime is not working, because the bill is not payed. trash is not picked up, because bill is not payed. Big water bug pop out odd places. Dontez the leasing agent is a big lair, the company let him fired him o nce,and then let him come back. Little the owner no(get rid of dontez,he is very sneaky. Parking and rent went up, because of dontez. More money in his pocket the more the company makes. Also when apartment #7 was vacant some years ago ,dontez was having sex with a female in that vacant apartment, which the owner is not aware of. several renter are aware, but nothing was said. VERY VERY SNEAKY.

                          AIY is horrible!

We only had a few days to find an apartment after a job transfer from out of state. We thought we would be happy with Moreland Manor because of the area but boy were we wrong. Looks can be deceiving! It's pretty shady around here. If you have kids this is a big no no place for you. If you love music you are in luck! We have a local church group renting an apartment here as well. Each Sunday a Baptist congress joins together in the small apartment to jam out and sing to the heavens...drums and all. If you don't enjoy the lords music you will have to invest in some ear plugs because no one cares. The yard is often full of trash and glass from the younger party animals living here. Nice bunch of kids, just too young to care. Don't bother calling AIY for help if your apartment floods and it will, they all do, all the time. They wont be out to fix it as soon as you hope, plan on using buckets and rain boots for a week or two. Not a great place for young ladies either. The front light has been… See More>

The leasing agent/ office receptionist who is never there/ a random tenant the owner hired from the building was not just late to show me an apartment she was a no show. I called several times to no avail. I finally got in touch the next day where not only did I get no apology but an attitude on top of it. All signs were screaming get out of this place but I needed a location close to the Cleveland Clinic and this was one of the cheapest. BIG MISTAKE. Roaches, crack addicts and dealers, and yes even PROSTITUTION were going on incessantly right in the building. The parking is horrible, I constantly has other tenants parking in my spot, which management would do nothing about. I really wish i had read these reviews earlier I would have steered clear of Shaker Hall. You have to SIT in the laundry room until your things are done or they WILL be stolen (yeah!!!), the tenants are so loud and noisy, and when you complain the staff has the nerve to eye you down and give dirty looks. Renting from Shaker Hall Apartments has been awful. Maintenance took months before addressing an emergency problem in my apartment and even then could not successfully fix it. Cockroaches were present at move-in. The landlady had a loud dog that barked and ran around the building late at night. Parking was also a problem unless you pay $45 a month to park in one of the few spots they have in the garage. More importantly, half the building is broken. There are or have been leaking pipes in both car garages, the workout room, the main office, apartments, and hallways. It's a disgusting and ongoing problem.

the worst management I have ever come across. I am in complete agreement with the other reviews. There are always drug deal going on loud obnoxious people and the rudest management. The office lady, Phyllis, kept giving me the run around when I came in to sign the lease. Once she didnt even show up and called me an hour later saying she had to reschedule for the next day. Horrible people horrible company NEVER RENT FROM NESSLE! Clothes get stolen from the laundry rooms maintenence will not fix issues for anything! Also cars get broken into due to lack of security in the parking lot and the lot is right by a horrible dangerous street with absolutely no protection or anything. They could at least get an attendant. the apartments are decent looking but considering the type of tenants, their managment, their location, blatant drug dealings and prostitution it is the type of place you would pay like 300$ a month to live IF THAT. I pay the same price now for a gorgeous SAFE and PROFESSIONAL apartment on Van Aken

I should have known that a rental agent being 1 hour late for an appointment to show me an apartment was a bad sign. The company was excellent when there was an on site agent and the lease sgreement paperwork was detailed and complete. No security on site and drug deals and prositution could be seen going on at the front curb area in the evenings. Strange people coming in and out the lobby area. Rats and mice could be seen in the area and building. Tenants were always noisey. Groups of "women" would scream and yell in the elevators at 3am. Male staff would stand around in the garage office area to stare and gawk at the female tenants. Maintenance people would enter apartments without giving proper 24 hour notice for non emergency repairs. There were fires in the building. The only pro is that the building is close to transportation and they do offer some large apartments. Bottom line; they are not worth the bother and the ones across the street are the same.

Very noisy, very shady characters, and the people who run the building are not professional and very unkempt (trailer trash-esque). I will not be renewing my lease with Shaker Hall and had I known the atmosphere I would be surrounded in I would never have signed the lease. I suggest if you are considering Shaker Hall to try the building across the street instead or even the Van Aken Blvd apartments I am very dissatisfied with Shaker Hall.
