Resident 2022 - 2023

Worst Management Ever

Do NOT rent here. I moved out in April and have yet to receive my security deposit back almost 3 months later. No one will answer my phone calls, emails, or even pick up the phone. The management at the Statler is a complete and utter nightmare. They continually lie and are extremely rude and unprofessional. The apartment next to mine had a cockroach infestation, which then led to cockroaches in my apartment. Management lied about the cockroaches and tried to cover everything up. There was 3-4 different property managers in the 16 months I lived there, each no better than the last. Do not trust Kari or Linda when they say they are working on fixing the elevators or whatever the problem of the day is. I could go on and on. There's plenty of other better options in Cleveland. This place is not worth the small bit of savings.

Not only has the building been beautifully renovated, but the management team is the best! The location is absolutely wonderful too. Heinen's is across the street and one of the most beautiful grocery stores I've ever shopped in. The Statler is within walking distance to the best that downtown Cleveland living has to offer, including Playhouse Square, the Euclid Arcade, East 6th Street and Public Square. I highly recommend!

I have lived downtown for four years and this is the third apartment community I have leased at. The property is exceptional considering construction is still underway. My unit was rehabilitated incredibly well and any issues I have had have been quickly addressed by staff. The staff in general is incredibly nice and helpful. Many of the amenities were not at previous communities I lived at, such as the package delivery (even large furniture) to my unit. Very unique and cool vibe. Looking forward to continually seeing improvements as construction completes. Finally, the location is also great... I'ts much quieter than over in the Warehouse district and I walk to work every day. You can't beat being located right by Heinens either. Close walk to all of the great events and places downtown. Highly recommended.

The apartments are all newly renovated. They are spacious and clean. The appliances are all new. Most importantly, the management is great! They are very receptive and prompt in their responses. Maintenance issues are taken very seriously and issues are fixed promptly. They receive boxes for you and transport them to your apartment. Overall, I am very happy to be living here.

I've lived at The Statler for more than five years and although living through the renovation was challenging, well worth the improvements. The staff here is fantastic and always friendly and quick to take care of any issue. The is now a first class building! Bravo to Millenia.

Stayed here for 3 yrs. During move out inspection they said everything is fine but later deducted cleaning charges from the deposit refund. This was very disappointing since I had cleaned the apartment and it was in the same condition as I had received it and still they put the cleaning charges. This is not a professional behavior and is very disappointing.

I have lived at Statler Arms for almost 5 years and can happily recommend to anyone looking to live downtown. Rates are very reasonable, location is great, and there are lots of useful amenities. Really like the common lounge area, roof top, workout room, and restaurant and coffee shops in building. Rooms are very good at keeping out noise. The staff is also fairly responsive in responding to maintenance requests. One quibble is that I have yet to find a dryer that consistently dries my clothes well, but not a huge deal.

I'm satisfied the leasing office management office person. Because of that, I choose here. Transportation and location is very attractive point here.

The building is beautiful and that's about it. The previous email is 100% accurate with all the maladies mentioned. I must elaborate on the trash which is heaped in piles in the trash room rather than thrown down the trash shoot. A very strong (55%+) -------------- presence on every floor; they don't follow the rules and do whatever they want to in the building. Children running through the lobby as well as on all the floors; they play on the equipment in the gym. Worst of all, management does absolutely nothing about it as they fear a discrimination lawsuit. Do not be scammed by the leasing agents. You will feel like a prisoner in your own apartment. Much better apartments located downtown and in the warehouse district where you will feel safe.

BEWARE! Detailed Review included with blatant honesty.... I lived at Statler for 3+ years and used have a fairly neutral opinion of the place. Unfortunately, the living conditions, treatment from management and creepy lack of security are major factors that will lead you to be incredibly UNHAPPY if you live here. LIVING CONDITIONS: The Statler's amenities are on par with similar buildings around the area only a little bit older. Machines in the exercise room are okay, but when they break they don't get fixed for months. Also, a heavy Middle Eastern population makes the exercise room a loitering ground, especially for males who are unaccustomed to American ways and frequently sit and watch when women work out. On one occasion, a group of these young men went so far as video taping a young female running on the treadmill. Security will not intervene (they "don't get paid enough"), making this a creepy and beyond awkward situation for all involved. I never felt safe, nor did any of my female friends, making this and other common areas more like "scary" areas. Units are generally in good shape, but noises and smells easily come through the doors of the units. For the last… See More>

                        Resident 2014 - 2015

Unit: One Bedroom, 1270 SQ Feet Rent: $1,270 - This is going to be raised $60 this year. Parking: $170 Absolutely a horrible place to live. The apartment itself was very nice and large, so if I was a hermit and never left the building, I would have been fine. The gym is only half functional in that half of the cardio machines appear to be broken at all times, and tenants often use the gym as a playground for their children. The same tenants also wear excessive amount of Axe Body Spray, to the point where I actually had to stop running one day because I could not breathe. There is almost always trash in every hallway (floors and tables) the lobby, and the elevators By trash I don't mean trash in garbage bins or bags, I mean an apple core or a half eaten strawberry just set down at random. For the majority of the time I lived in Statler only two elevators worked at any one time out of the four, one never functions and never will. The wait is often long. Finally, one year after move in I received a bill the solitary note:… See More>

                          - The leasing office manager is not helpful at all, and she is dealing with some people better than others. - The building very old and I noticed a lot of cracks. - The building suffers from their old elevators, they try make them work but still not working properly. - The gym is very very small compared to the other buildings arround and to the money that we pay. - The building parking is too expensive and sometimes you cannot find a parking spot due to valet parking that some hotels uses. - There was a mosque in the building but the leasing office manager decided to close it because she want to do a place that everybody can use, it has been more than 4 months and the mosque still closed as it is. - The only best thing in this building is ----- in the Copper moon café. This building does not worth the kind of moeny they ask for because there is nothing special about it.

worst management, elevators are out of service for years now ( only two, sometimes even just one elevator) and its just too expensive, save your money and go to the reserve square, its almost the same apartments with better service. also reserve square includes a supermarket, car rental, and a bar!!

I have lived at Statler Arms for some time and my lease can not expire soon enough!! Our list of issues is a mile long: -Maintenance entering our apartment without advanced notice or without leaving a note, -Elevators are often broken. When I moved in over a year ago we were told all four elevators would be working within a few months. Many days only one elevator works (or none- have fun hauling your kids and groceries 14 stories on the stairs!) -Neighbors are loud and rowdy, issues with domestic violence, noise and vandalism in common areas -Management is unresponsive to requests and complains, violates the terms in the lease that they outline. ----, former manager, was unresponsive and I think a drunk. ---, new apartment manager, is extremely rude and catty, unwilling to assist residents. -Parking area is extremely small and the lot attendant is constantly drunk. -The building is very old so the temperature inside your apartment is whatever it is outside. Apartment complex will not change windows or seals around windows, so have fun freezing your tail overnight in December when you are trying to sleep. Alternative, your energy bill could be in the triple digits if you try to keep warm or cool. -I… See More>

I spent over three years in the Statler and was generally satisified with the entire experience. The Office staff and especially the maintenance crew are really good. The project to replace and update the elevators began a few weeks ago so that will fix one of the biggest problems which were slow and broken elevators. I would recommend living here as you are not going to find a better spot this side of Cleveland; it s worth a few extra bucks a month to have a cleaner and well maintained building. If you are a big workout person you will have to join one of the downtown gyms, the building got in over its head with the gym, they tried to put a nice new gym in 2 years ago however they have no idea how to maintain the equipment so it s all broken, Treadmills will just stop in mid use, elliptical machines are falling apart and nothing is cleaned in the Gym it s really bad and many people have complained, it s the one sore spot of the building. Also it s really nice to have a coffee… See More>

My husband and I lived here for about three and a half months last summer while he was doing an internship and I was working. We were both working downtown, so it was a super convenient commute about 3-5 minutes walking. It was so nice to not have to worry about public transit or parking. It s also a short walk to East 4th restaurants and just a little farther to the Warehouse district if that s your thing. We lived in Suite Series #10 which I highly recommend, and here s why: You get exterior windows. A lot of the units face the courtyard, and seem a little dark inside. This one faces Euclid. There are two huge windows in the living room that let a lot of light in, and one big window in each bedroom. Privacy/No hallway noise. It s at the end of the hall, and farthest from the elevator. This unit is right next to the staircase, so you have no apartment next to you on one side. There is really no reason for people to walk in front of your door unless they re going to the staircase. We were on… See More>

I had a great time living at this place. Me and wife are staying here for almost a year by now and would have loved staying more (if our job was not transferred to a different state). The interactions with Amy / Rick (management) have been friendly & accommodating. The other good about this place is the layout of our apartment that we like, good location of the place in downtown, close to public transportation on Euclid Ave, lobby looks great and well maintained, close to pubs, night life, shopping, three stadiums, etc. There are paid yoga classes held on top floor (if u r interested). There is a coffee shop inside the complex (and Star Bucks just a block away) and juji's cafe is a great indoor place for quick eating. There are onsite laundry facilities like washer/drying hook in every apartment and laundry room on every floor, maintenance staff is prompt, very good cleanliness, friendly front desk staff and always helpful, recreational room is a great plus and we enjoyed every time we played table tennis or pool, this place also has a sauna room and gym facilities. The areas for improvements are the elevators that we did not… See More>

Statler Arms is an awesome place to stay. But please be informed that the property manager is not very accommodating and is sometimes even downright rude. The one time you will have to deal with him though is during your leasing process. Another con, are the elevators, only 2 of the 4 elevators seems to function and that does get annoying at times. Con: Parking rates are outrageous. That being said, every other aspect of the apartment complex is a plus. Location, maintenance staff, security staff, cleaning staff, onsite maintenance, onsite facilities. It is a great place to stay downtown. But if the management staff continues to behave the way they do, they may be losing loyal customers who would want to be staying there but almost be forced to move out due to poor management attitude.

The worst management staff ever. I have been waiting for referral bonus for six months and still didn't receive it. The management staff doesn't care at all. Their attitudes are so arrogant and lazy.

Great: location, security staff, transportation options, sports venues, theatre, views of Lake Erie, shopping convenience. Not so great: management staff, maintenance services, the occasional dorm-like annoyances, elevators are tired and unreliable

                                            Amazing Place to Live!

I have lived in a two bedroom apartment for a little under two years. There is absolutely no noise at all, with the exception of people waiting for the elevators, as our apartment is right beside them, but that never lasts long. The maintenance staff here is amazing, and Eric, the head maintenance person is great. I have put in a few requests for small things (light bulbs, broken blinds, and a broken toilet seat) and they were fixed the next day by noon. The building is immaculate, with the exception of people putting their trash in the hallways near the freight elevators. They do this because the doors to the trash room are locked at a certain time on the weekends. I believe this was due to problems with fires from people throwing cigarettes down the chute, but we have never had a problem since living here. They recently came under new management and the new people have done SO MUCH to improve the building. They made an all new work out facility, they have put in a game room, as well as a new coffee shoppe called Copper Moon which… See More>

Frankly, it seems to be the right apartment at the beginning, but later, you will be disappointed when you find things need to be operated RIGHT. They might tell you they will raise the rent in order to attract you to live there. The management is very poor. Don't expect them to respond to your concerns.

It was a two bedroom on the corner of Euclid & East 12th and I was pretty low to the street and had a great view (especially at night when playhouse square was lit up). I could hear outside noise like sirens, but rarely heard a peep from the other apartments. Inside it was very nicely updated. Spacious kitchen, washer dryer hook ups (I actually rented mine from the building but you can bring your own), large windows (the management had them cleaned every few months), and I had a walk in closet in the master bedroom. Aside from dropping off my rent, I really didn't spend too much time with management. Karen is always really nice and I like the maintenance staff. I think the Supervisor is Eric and he's been there for a few years. The only maintenance issues I ever had were small like the toilet running and it was always resolved fast.
