Resident 2007 Not Recommended
Reviewed 09/01/2007
I moved into Essington in January of 2007. I was going through a divorce and needed to find a place quickly. I grew up in the Forest Park area and went to Northland High School, so I felt safe moving back to the area. I immediately started having noise issues with the neighbors immediately above me. They would fight, have parties, and have LOUD, graphic sex all night long. It was disgusting, and I was always afraid to have guests over - never knowing when they would start going at it. When I went to the rental office to pay my 2nd months rent, I complained to the office staff - being as nice as I possibly could. I was told that there was only a womans name on the lease, meaning the man living there was in violation of the lease agreement. They also had a dog that they abuse regularly, never take out, don't clean up after when they DO take him out, and play "fetch" with in the middle of the night. Again, I was told the issue would be addressed because they did not have permission to keep a dog in the property. (It's a $300 pet fee and $40/monthly pet rent for a dog of that size.) Well, today is August 31st and both the man and the dog are still living there. And yes, the loud sex continues 2-3 nights a week, and sometimes 2-3 times a night. I have a disgusting leak in my shower that they say is coming from the neighbors leaking shower above me. However, I first called in a maintenance request in March and it has yet to be fixed. I just finished my letter of 30-days notice letting the agency know I will vacating the property prior to the terms of my lease.
