Resident 2011 - 2015

7/13/2015

I've lived at Glenmuir for 4 years now so I'll list the pros and cons... Pros: Convenient location (near grocery stores, retail, restaurants, close to 270 and 315.), Pet Friendly (allows for small and large dogs, but check for breed restrictions), friendly and fast maintenance staff (They usually always respond to a maintenance issue the same day. There have been a few times over the past 4 years where they had to be out for the same issue more than once, but always got the job done.), friendly office staff (Lesley and Skylar are very friendly and have always addressed my concerns promptly), friendly neighbors (let's be honest, I've had wonderful neighbors and horrible neighbors so this will be on the "cons" list, too, but for the most part everyone is extremely friendly), safety (there have been 2 notices of car break-ins, and one report of someone's apartment in the building across from me being broken into, but they hired Columbus police to patrol our complex and I have always felt safe here). Cons: rude and loud neighbors (as mentioned before, I've had good and bad neighbors, but I think it's just the luck of the draw on this one. Be warned, there ARE people who don't clean up after their dogs and you may get a letter, but they will send it to everyone in the building if they see a mess in front or behind your location, trying to locate the culprit), Landscaping (I have not been impressed at all by the grounds keepers. They have destroyed what little privacy we had from our neighbors by over-trimming, and one of the prettier trees with flowers in from of our building now looks like a stump with a couple of leaves), Dated (these are not bad apartments, but the appliances are definitely old and needing to be updated, as well as, floors and countertops. I have 2 different styles of flooring between my 2 bathrooms and kitchen and 2 different-colored countertops. I know some of the units have had flooring and counters updated because my mother-in-law lived here for a year and everything in her apartment matched), Pricing (I feel like these apartments are over priced for what you get, but they are the most affordable apartment in Dublin schools I could find), poor snow removal (the company they hire to remove snow does more than one property so they may not get to Glenmuir until later that day, making for a hard morning trying to get out of the parking lot for work and you can definitely expect a lot of ice throughout the winter), Pool (I feel like the pool needed some work throughout the past few years, but they did eventually get some new pool furniture and replaced a broken section of fence, so it's getting better). All in all, these places are not top of the line, but I feel they are a little better than the standard apartment and I've been generally happy with my experience here. Now that I've gotten married and we have added a pet to our family of 3, we've just outgrown our 2 bedroom garden and will be looking for a house in the next few months.
