Resident 2014 - 2015

Terrible experience with neighbors when I lived here. Constant yelling, fighting, and banging heard through the walls. The mother went to work and the kid stayed home all day and had house parties - literally every day. There were multiple fights during house parties that occurred on the shared patio and spilled into the parking lot. I felt like a prisoner in my apartment. Management did absolutely nothing to take care of the problem. I estimate that I submitted at least 10 written complaints. When the mother returned she acted the same way as the kid, yelling, screaming, and up till all hours making noise. That experience alone outweighed the rest of the pros for the complex. My experience living there was the worst I've had in my entire life.

Stayed here for 2 years.. Previous Property Manager Eron was rather very co-operative, but current Property Manager is worst ever encountered i.e Tammy. They will look for excuse to charge you back, once you leave the community. Damages will not be fixed, while you are staying or you move-in. But will be charged to you, once you leave the community. We were charged close to ~$800. Management is big big LIAR.

I'm not sure why people think good reviews must be written by management. I can assure you, I'm not affiliated with the management at all! Not sure how to prove it... you'll just have to believe my review I guess. We've lived here for almost 2 years now. Planning on leaving this year but only because we're buying a house. We have really enjoyed it. We've only had a couple maintenance problems but they were quickly resolved. The maintenance guy even turned our fireplace off for us when our toddler started showing interest in light switches. We don't really hear our neighbors, except for a 16 year old next store who likes to play music. And his dad told us we could let him know if it got too loud. Our neighbors have been very nice in general - no creeps as far as I can tell. Quite a few families with small kids. We have 2 small children - my 2 year old's review is that she loves the duck pond! I love having a washer and dryer included. My only serious complaint is that the 2 bedroom townhouse layout has like no storage. Closets are small, and you don't… See More>

I am a current resident and have lived at Sanctuary Village for a few years. My experience is totally different then the previous reviewer. I never have any noise issues and the grounds are always clean and maintenance is always prompt. I agree sometimes traffic stinks but tolerable and I have enjoyed living here and will continue to do so.

When you hear the name "Sanctuary Village," you envision a place of peacefulness and tranquility. The real irony here is that this could not be farther from reality. The Sanctuary will be one of the noisiest places you will ever live. You will be treated to the endless ambiance of lawn equipment in the Spring and Summer, leaf blowers in the Fall, and snow blowers in the Winter. While much of this is the Sanctuary's own doing, the issue is compounded exponentially for anyone who lives on the side facing the Sanctuary housing development. I was fortunate enough to not live on that side, but a friend of mine was not so lucky and now sends me a daily 'noise' video of whatever grounds maintenance is occurring. That's right, he's been driven so mad that every day he records and documents the sound of lawn equipment from inside his living room and bedroom, and is incapable of escaping the noise in his own apartment. Working from home and living at the Sanctuary are two things that should never be in the same sentence. The fatal flaw in the coffin of noise is… See More>

            Great place, great price

My husband and I have lived in a townhouse at Sanctuary Village for about 6 months now and are just getting ready to move out because we are buying our first house. We have had a wonderful experience living here. It is nestled in a quiet area, but it is conveniently located to Polaris and 23. The place has ample space for the two of us, and the decor (walls, flooring) is really decent. We had a good amount of closet and cupboard space. The landscaping is absolutely beautifully kept, there is a cute little pond on the property, and they always decorate for seasons and holidays, which I love. The best part about the place is that you can hardly ever hear any noise from the neighboring units. It's amazing! There is also plenty of parking available, and if you like, you can rent a carport for a small fee. My only complaints are: the washer and dryer are old, and the dryer takes a long time to get the job done; snow removal isn't the greatest; the bathtub is extremely squeaky (that's one thing you can hear from the other apartments); and because of the location, you have… See More>

              Wonderful place to live!

Sanctuary Village is nice little community that is quiet, well-maintained, and convenient to anything on the north side of Columbus, especially Polaris mall. I have had to call maintenance twice (slow drain and broken A/C); both problems were fixed to my satisfaction within 1 day. I've never had any problems with my neighbors and like another poster said, on very rare occasions I may hear a muffle from another unit, but that is it. Excellent sound insulation. I have only heard of two break ins while I was here, and management proactively informed all residents and distributed safety information. One thing I did notice is that the walls show wear fast, for example if you brush against them, and I notice that I need to vacuum more often because the carpet shows dirt pretty quickly. After talking to friends, I have found out that is pretty standard in most apartments. In the winter, although they do a great job clearing the walkways, the parking lot can be really treacherous...although they do not block in my car, which I have experienced at other communities. My personal situation was such that I had to move, and I couldn't afford to… See More>

                Best apartment I've had

I've lived at Sanctuary Village for 3 years and have no complaints. The previous person warns people to stay away because of break-ins, but since I've lived here there have only been 3 or 4, which really isn't bad for any area around Columbus. The management and maintenance have always been friendly and professional. I do agree with another post that said the carpet sucks. It really does- no matter how often you clean it, it always looks dirty... The kitchen cabinets could use some help too, I've had the same drawer break 3 times (the maintenance gut always fixed it quickly though). And the location is awesome, close to anything you could ever need. Overall, if I didn't have to move to be closer to my job I would probably stay here for at least another year.

                  Not safe

Our apartment was broken into during broad daylight and all valuables - $4,000 worth stolen our family videos and all photos, as they were on the cameras and videocameras they stole. In addition, my social security card and credit cards were stolen. Not secure, do not stay here. In addition, neighbors YELL at their kids and you can hear it all through the walls.

                    Great Place to Live.

I have lived here for over a year and have found it to be a great place to live. The 'neighborhood' is very quiet and peaceful and an effort is made to make the grounds look attractive. I love having a covered porch...I don't have to feel bad for making my boyfriend smoke outside in the pouring rain! The apartment itself is quiet as well. I have never heard my neighbors beyond the muffled sound of someone using the stairs in the apt behind ours. To get down to the nitty gritty..while I feel that there is plenty of storage space in the kitchen, the cabinets look blah and the stove needs updated. The full size washer and dryer included in the rent is a great bonus but the tan carpet throughout the apt began to look worn in just a few months. The bathroom feels a bit tight, with one elbow touching the vanity and the other the shower curtain when using the toilet but at least there's a lot of counter space on the large vanity. The water pressure in the shower is amazing but the creaking of the tub floor is annoyingly loud. Heating and cooling is… See More>

                      Great Place!

I've lived here for a month now and have nothing but good to say! When I moved in my washer and dryer did not work correctly, I informed the manager and I got a brand new washer and dryer within 5 days! All maintenence requests that I've had have been taken care of and manager is very friendly and professional! I definitely recommend Sanctuary Village to anyone looking for a quiet little apartment complex and the rent is fairly cheap compared to others around the area!

Would NOT recommend in the future

Went from good to NOT so good. Poor management and grounds keeping.
