Terrible amenities

Amenities” are often not available for use, and residents are never notified when this occurs. The pool has never been open before mid June, and when it is, it is often closed with no notification from management, or sign posted indicating it is under repair. If you are able to speak to someone, they often provide a response indicating it will be fixed the following day, which has never proven to be true. Maintence enters the property with no notice and does not leave a note when they have entered the apartment.

They won't plow the complex. It has been 4 days since a major snow and now the apartment is snow and ice covered and you slide in and out of the complex, and I fell twice getting out of my car cause it is NOTHING BUT ICE. Isnt this what the rent is for?

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! If you can live anywhere else, you should. Tina does not manage the apartment complex at all, and Ebner properties will pretend they did not receive your cancellation for the following year. They are terrible and they will rob you blind.

Have lived here half a year now, and like it overall. Location is awesome - we walk to just about any shopping and restaurants we desire. The neighborhood is quite diverse, not a monochromatic wasteland. The staff is helpful and responsive - they're a new company in the past year or so, I guess, and making some changes as they go. Redid the parking lots a couple months back (nice) and upgraded the exercise room a little, for example. The only complaints we've had really are inconsiderate neighbors - noise at night, and a few people who don't clean up properly after pets. The square footage here is a little smaller than the surounding area's average, but cost is lower too. They do have storage units in the buildings for rent (affordable and convenient) which was a blessing for us, having moved with a houseful of junk. Overall, we like it here, and are learning to be patient with the noisier neighbors.

I spent four years at Sawmill Place. My main complaint is that even after four years I could not go month to month unless I paid an extra $100 a month. The lease here automatically renews for an entire year, each year, unless you want to pay the extra $100. Any other apartment I have lived at has offered month to month for maybe an extra $10-$20 a month after your first year's lease is up. This is the reason why I moved out when I did. I did not want to commit to another full year, and I could not see paying nearly $700 a month for a modest, no-frills, one bedroom. All in all, I had a great experience during my time here. The pros: 1. Nice washer and dryer in unit. 2. Fantastic closet space. 3. Decent kitchen area. Yes, the microwave looks decades old but everything works just fine. Great counter space. 4. Never a problem with parking. 5. Good location. Safe- I always felt safe and never heard of any break-ins or problems. Close to major highways, shopping, restaurants. 6. Dublin school district (although they only have one bedrooms so you probably won't be raising a family… See More>

Prepare to have NO contact with Tina, the property manager. We were personally told by the maintenance guy that Tina has a larger property she manages and attends to it way more because she finds Sawmill Place Apartments less important. It made me furious because we then found out she has an assistant manager at the 'more important' properties, so there should be no reason to make that first priority. My boyfriend and I signed our lease with Ryan in July, who was outstanding. He was helpful, communicable, informative, and very clear to us. He left and we got a new manager, Tina, who we have YET TO EVEN MEET OR SEE THE FACE OF. Hell, we've never even had a conversation with her. I'm furious. I am dealing with a situation from Hell and Tina is no where to be found. If she leaves notices at our door about anything, we try to contact her by calling her, leaving voice mails, writing notes to put in the drop box, etc. just to get NO call and NO messages returned. I am being ignored at this point, which legally is not okay. No tenant should feel helpless. the cheap rent… See More>

I've read numerous reviews for many different apartments in the Columbus area. Each bad review gets too "personal" in my opinion. So I am going to do my best and set my emotions aside and just simply tell my experiences while living at Sawmill Place apartment. I have lived here for almost a year now. In these short 12 months I have seen three different property mangers. Sawmill place, from what I understand, gets bought and sold more often then BP's stock. So that is a factor when considering Sawmill Place. You might not be able to become to familiar with the help because like I said, the establishment has high turnoever. Parking: Parking has never been a problem these past 12 months. There is always plenty of spots in my particular lot for myself and my fiances car. Noise: AWFUL. Honestly, the walls are very thin and if you live on the bottom apartments (like me) you will hear EVERY single step your neighbor above you make. Also, if you have an apartment by the staircase then most likely you have your bed close, or up against the wall nearest to the stairs. Once again, if you have pesky neighbors (like me)… See More>

I am very happy finally, I have lived here for almost 2 years and the new management started in September. Work orders that were never completed have been. I called and they were at my apartment that day to fix everything. I was going to write a bad review, until now. We will see how good they are, but so far, I am really happy, finall! I love my apartment, I got to paint it the colors I wanted and it's nice to have my own washer and dryer in my home.

                  dont do it

I lived her for for about 5 months until the "maintence "wanted to evict me . This is probably the worst apartments around town.2 days after we moved in someone complained we were throwing trash outside.false .the dumpster was literally 10 ft away .anywho. they place is very very small lighting sucks and there was a huge issue with mold in bathrooms and kitchen. The walls are super thin. One day me my boyfriend and his one friend walked to drop something off in office mailbox and when we were over there we were looking at pool from outside the gate .next day i get a call from RUDE. Ol' Tina saying a there was a complaint that me and a bunch of people were all at the pool and they seen us walk from my house there and back !??? Really??? I think the people there are racist . On the lease it says NO pets .NOthing can hang in windows. No boats or unoccupied vehichals .... And there was people with dogs ..and flags all in windows .but i get a complaint for walking to the office .with 2 black guys .this place is ridiculous...had huge problem with the… See More>

                    money hungry Ebner Properties

On top of cheating me out of money several other unethical ways, Ebner has kept my entire deposit ($199). I gave a 5-month written notice, followed by filling out the notification form they left for me 2 weeks later and returning it immediately. I cleaned the apartment when I left. The only "damage" done to the apartment in the 2 years I was forced to live there was absolutely normal wear and tear - a few small stains on their wheat-colored carpet that a steam cleaner would remove in a heartbeat. I did NOT pay my final $28 water bill since I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt, given the history I had w/ them, that they were not going to refund my deposit. They could have surprised me and refunded $171, but they did exactly what I knew they would do, and refunded NOTHING. Re: parking: they probably had enough spaces, but their snow clearing crew piled snow behind the CARS rather than on the lawn on the other side of the parking lot. Re: safety: someone removed my doorknob. Re: construction: lots of problems w/ construction, lots of problems w/ black mold in the bathroom. Their one staff person… See More>

                      They suck

I lived here for a year but was avoided going home because it sucked. Apartments are small. No garage option. Poor heat. Poor storage. Poor fixtures. Mildew smell was a problem.

Not a bad place to live

I've lived here for less than a year, and i chose this complex because it's close to my job. With any place of living, you have to take the bad in with the good. You'll always hear your neighbors, but it's not that bad. Let's face it, if you live in an apartment and you have a neighbor directly next to, above, or below you, you're going to hear something--but like i said, it's not bad. There's adequate parking; my friends never have problems trying to park when they come over. All units are one bedroom, by the way. Oh, and no pets (although I've noticed my neighbor has a cat...) The floor plan looks weird, but when i moved in, it didn't seem so. It works well. All units have the same appliances: washer and dryer, dishwasher, and microwave. And though the price seems high for a small place, I do believe it's worth it. All those appliances, it's a nice and safe (and quiet) area, and it's very convenient to the highway and shopping. Management is wonderful; they're very nice, and they do the best they can to work with you (I had a set back when I… See More>

Ok for the money, if thats all you care about.

I moved in here August 2008 and this apartment has to be the worst I ever lived in. I don't know if the lady who lives aboves me turns into a mammoth or elephant at night, but I could literally follow her footsteps around the apartment. The walls and the ceiling are so thin, especially from your neighbor upstairs. I can hear my neighbor upstairs pee, if its really early in the morning. That's disgusting. I can also hear her dial tone on her homephone if she tries to use her speaker. Parking is great! So is the pool, volleyball court and gazebo, but the apartment itself is small. I dont know what the constructors thought when they built the place. I think they should just convert each piece of a building into a townhome, both floors that is. So that instead of having 8 apts, they have 4 townhomes, because right now the layout and interior is making me claustrophobic. Dont even think about having your out of town parents come visit for a few days because you will feel stiffled. I've seen a few couples (husband and wife and baby live here). I've wondered if their closet… See More>

                            Forget it

Do not rent from Ebner Properties. I lived here for 5 1/2 years and they want to charge me for replacing the carpet in the apartment after I moved out, not to mention to clean the walls and some sort of kitchen floor damage. My car was also broken into twice. The apartments are very small, thin walls. I wouldn't count on getting any of your security deposit back and be prepared for a fight to not have to pay more. Also when I called to complain about the excessive charges, the property manager pretty much yelled at me for 5 minutes trying to make me out to be the bad guy. They are basically trying to squeeze another months rent out of me. The shelves in the closets are very cheap and break easily.

                              So So

I have lived in Sawmill Place for about a year now. Like every other apartment complex there are good qualities and bad. The size of the apartment is small and probably not worth the price being paid but its the cheapest around for a one bedroom. The living room is extremely small and the layout is terrible. Like most apartments the walls are beige and so is the carpet. When I moved in the carpet was brand new.It also came with a washer and dryer which was nice and they were also new. The only old appliance I have is the microwave. The dishwasher was also new. Ive had a couple maintenance emergencies which were handle very quickly. One which involved water leaking through my ceiling causing some of my ceiling to fall through. The biggest problem I have with the apartment is the mildew/mold in the bathroom. After complaining I was told that they believe something was wrong with the water supply because there were many complaints about this. Most people dont realize how bad the mold really is. When I clean my bath tub mold falls from the walls behind the bath tub. And… See More>

                                Expensive and old models

I have had a pleasant experience at Sawmill Place. It's very quiet which is nice, however have had my car broken into several times and feels a bit unsafe at times. I have had no problems with the management. I feel there should be more security lights or cameras available. As far as the apartments, they are a little small for me, but the bedroom is a great size as well as the closet. I wish the appliances in the kitchen were newer for the price. I LOVE my washer and dryer in the unit. They are brand new and they are very nice. But again, I wish the dishwasher, stove, etc were a little more up to date. I think if they were to remodel these apartments they would be worth living in for the price. The pool area is really nice and for the most part, parking is pretty good. I have never had friends come over and not be able to park which is a nice ammenity. I have lived here for almost 2 years but am planning to move due to getting a roommate. For a one bedroom apartment, it is not bad. A little expensive for… See More>

Sawmill Place - Do Not Live There

Advertisements for Sawmill Place will make a point to focus on its value. There is no value to living in this complex. Sawmill Place was built in 1990, and built poorly. The exterior would have you believe it is moderately fashionable while the interior has little if any personality, unless you absolutely love beige. The interior has been painted carelessly, as shown by numerous strands of what one would assume to be human hair painted on to the wall. Here is just one example: Upon my own move-in there was a pair of woman's underwear in the dryer. I guess this is their version of a house warming gift. Customer service is sloppy at best. Tenant complaints are met with indifference and excuses. While the property manager touts Sawmill Place as a great place to live, the reality of the situation is a far cry from greatness. Find a better way to spend over $6000 in a 12-month period. Go someplace where your business is appreciated.
