At first glance, the place looks great. But once you move in, you see how poorly insulated the apartments are. I hear every conversation my neighbor has, and had I know how thin the floors are I would have waited for a top floor unit. The people above me are so loud I cannot sleep at times, and even after several complaints, nothing has been done that I am aware of. And if your neighbor has a dog that barks, be prepared to live with it because they won't do anything about that either. Of course I place blame for that on the residentss themselves... YOu know if you have a dog that barks a lot and I'm sorry but you're an inconsiderate jerk if you allow it to go on with no regard for people living around you. Just plain rude. It is rare that I get a parking space anywhere near my door. I work shift work and only get to park close if I come home in the middle of the day. The parking lot layout is terrible. The last community I lived in had parking passes assigned to residents and I think Shadow Creek needs to implement this as well. There are people parked in front of my building all the time that I know don't live there and that should help eliminate the problem (provided management actually enforced it...) I don't know who 'turns' the apartments once someone moves out, but whomever it is should be fired. Who paints cabinets that aren't wood?! And they did a terrible job too, with paint drips dried all over them and paint on the floor. The two times I have called maintenance (once for my dishwasher, and once for the water heater) the older man with the thick glasses (Can't recall his name) basically told me thaat there was nothing he could do and that I would just have to deal with it. He was rude and seemed like he didnt want to do his job. I had to call Vito both times before the maintenance guy would actually come back and do the work that needed to be done. Ridiculous. And I have to agree with the last post that the girls they have working in the office look like street walkers. That LeTanda (sp?) girl was wearing a skirt so short last time I went to do laundry that her butt was almost hanging out. Not professional!!!! The only one I have seen in that office who both looks and acts like a professional is Vito the property manager. He is the only one I go to for any questions or complaints because everyone else is worthless in that area. Overall the apartments are pretty from a distance, but the carpet, cabinets, and insulation are cheap and seriously lacking. I haven't decided if I am going to renew my lease or not, it is really a matter of money. If you have the extra income to pay over $1000 for a top floor loft unit, I say go for it. They are pretty, much quieter and I love the layout. But if you don't want to spend that much, I'd go elsewhere. I will say that I have lived much, much worse places and I do like the area. Feels much safer than places I have lived in Cincinnati. If they fired the maintenance staff, hired more professsional leassing agents, increase the noise insulation and did something about the parking issue, I'd be more than happy to stay.
