Decent Low-Cost Living

Kent Village Apartments are not luxury by any stretch of the imagingation; but for the low-budget student or young worker, they´re a good bargain and a nice place to call home. Located just a couple of blocks from Kent State University, they are right behind a Grocery Store and across from a K-Mart. Within easy walking distance are fast-food establishments, a bank, A video rental store, A hair salon, a Mailboxes Etc., and more. Although they are near the edge of town, the location is pretty good for those who have only foot or bike transportation to the area. Bus Stops are also present just at the end of the driveway, and elsewhere nearby.

The drawbacks to the apartment are its aging structure and interior design/decoration (especially in the Studio apartment units). Things are well-maintained; but the decor and appliances were definitely originally bought awhile back. On the other hand, the central courtyard is nicely landscaped, and views into it from apartments are quite pleasant. Upper floors are recommended, though sound insulation is decent. The maintenance is good, though not stellar; and overall management is pretty good. For example, one of the managers remembered me when I called with a question some two YEARS after I´d moved out! And there hadn´t been any big issues that would give her cause to remember me that strongly...

If you´ve lived at Kent Village more recently than early ´99, please feel free to correct me if anything has changed!
