Rent is a little less than other apts the same size in same area. If you are trying to save a buck, go for it. But consider the hassles. Elevator broken for last 4 years. Halls smell of pet urine. Laundry room has only 1 washer & dryer for 24 apartments. One light bulb hanging from the ceiling makes for a dingy laundry area. Stacks of drywall and 5-gallon tubs of plaster stacked everywhere. Common areas rarely vacuumed. Small piles of autumn leaves still in entry way the next summer. Hallway bulbs remain burned out for 6 months. Light covers hang broken from hall ceilings. Exit sign spells the word EXIT with duct tape. Mail boxes in lobby broken & hanging open for last 5 years. ID theft waiting to happen. Residents store large boxes of personal items hallways for weeks at a time. Landlord does nothing. Serious stains on stairway carpet from a resident spilling something remains 2 years later. No storage lockers/areas for residents. Landlord requires 2-month notice if moving out. Vast majority require 1 month. Parking: 7 outdoor spots & 3 small garage spots (compact cars). Rest of tennants are on their own. Lakewood PD tows on Lake Ave during both rush hours, so read the signs. If you rent a surface spot, be prepared for visitors & other residents alike to frequently park in your space. Landlord does not return calls regarding parking problems. When cost of natural gas rises, landlord increases rent mid-lease (not legal in Ohio). Etc, etc.
