Resident 2020

12/3/2020

These apartments used to be very well kept when the previous owner Ron Fogle had this property. My elderly Mother and sister lived in the townhouse. My Mother loved the property.Due to health reasons she moved with me,.They allowed my sister to move downstairs in a one bedroom unit. This was approximately 8 yrs ago.Ron never wrote up a new lease for my sister, therefore she was just paying her monthly rent,(on time).Never an issue. The new owners came in September and issued an eviction notice to my sister,(see attached) for non renewal of lease. With the new lease they are raising her rent from $620 to an astronomical $750!!! During a pandemic. They said they were going to remodel the suites??.Then that's when you should try to get that price for a small one bedroom, that has no amenities such as dishwasher or anything else. Council woman Edwina Agee and I have made several attempts to sit and talk with the new owners, with no results.I put a stop payment on her November rent check, after receiving this notice. My sister doesn't want to leave,,but she can't pay what they're asking for the current rent. Now with this recent snow storm the parking lot is a disaster. She is 62 yrs old and almost fell on the icy poorly plowed parking lot.The new owners950Management should be embarrassed and ashamed . To come in here and try to evict good tenants. My sisters hours have been cut at her job,at the racino, due to the pandemic, and she rides her bike to work, which is most convenient ,living at Sunnyslope.
