Lyons Gate Apartments

Well, I moved in here 8 months ago and don't really have much to complain about. I was laid off from my job back in 2010 and was evicted from my previous apartment as a result. I had to move back in with my parents until I got back on my feet again. When the time finally came, I was worried sick about not being able to find anyone willing to rent to me again; at least not in a safe part of town. Lyons Gate did, and I'm grateful for them taking a chance on me, and actually providing me with a decent place to live. Maybe things have gotten better lately, because I don't have very many of the complaints that others have listed. I've seen a few bugs in the summer, but they vanished in the fall. I've had a few leaky pipes, but maintenance has taken care of them quickly. Office staff has always been helpful. My only real gripe is with parking and security. Just as others have mentioned, parking is pretty awful. Basically, each apartment, regardless of whether it's a one, two, or three bedroom has only one space per apartment, and I have indeed had to park quite a ways away from my apartment on a few occasions. And yes, people fly through here going 35 mph sometimes, and I've had a few close calls as a result. It got easier once I started backing in instead of pulling in. And it is fairly unsecured. The outer doors do not lock, so anyone can just barge in and kick your door in if they want to, but that's never happened to me, and hopefully it stays that way. That aside, I do find Lyons Gate to be a pretty decent living experience, and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
