Even though the apartments are nice and the local managers are good people, I would NOT recommend renting here because corporate couldn't care less about their renters.
I am getting married in September and cannot move in with my wife to be until then for several reasons that I won't get into here.
My lease is up at the end of May and they refuse to extend my lease through Sept. and they tell me that I have to sign another 12 month lease and they will not let me out of it unless I buy a house or get a job that takes me elsewhere AND I have to pay an extra $75 a month just to have that privilege! My fiance already owns her own home free and clear so there is no need to buy a home.
So, they're forcing me to either a) Move into a hotel for 3 months and pay for storage as well as paying movers to get my stuff to storage and then pay them again to move it from storage to the house once we're married (I can't do it myself, I'm a disabled veteran), b) Pay an attorney $500+ to draft paperwork for my fiance to sell me her house for a dollar for the sole purpose of satisfying their ridiculous requirement, or c) Renew my lease for 12 months and pay for an apartment that I'm not living in for 9 months following my marriage.
It's not like I'm a bad tenant. I keep to myself and pay my rent on time every month. If they would just use some common sense in this case, they would grant an exception to their limit of 2 months for an extension and leave it at that.
