Resident 2011 - 2013

10/9/2013

This place is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced for the quality of the building. Our rent started at $800 and now it's $1300. And for what?? Nothing has been added but problems. Everything here is old and rundown. The building itself doesn't even seem like any care was put in it. I can tell they used the cheapest possible materials and just threw it together. We've had so many problems every year we've been here. There was pest problems likes spiders, ants, silverfish and centipedes, worms, beetles, flying ants (the guest bedroom wall with the window was COVERED, COVERED with these. We had to leave the door closed all day and my mom couldn't go in her room), may flies. EVERYTHING. Now we have these little beetles in our food in the cabinets. We can't keep anything in the pantry unless its in a can and it's not like it'll fit in the tiny fridge they give you. Everything from the drawers to the garages are shabby and half-assed. Ours wouldn't open for the longest time and all they did to "fix" it was give us new batteries for the remote.. The garages are SO easy to break into though.. So don't leave anything too valuable out there.. Lock up your bikes.. Not to mention the gaping hole in the wall in my garage.. The storage cabinets in the garage aren't even cabinets. There's one door left on it. All of our closet doors and drawers came off track within 6 months including our screen door to the crappy patio which looks like a 7 year old was trying to build a tree house with the leftover wood his dad let him use, doorknobs and handles were falling off including the door to enter the apartment, all of our shower handles were coming off, faucets detaching from the counters. Our kitchen sink leaked so bad there was a large puddle at any given moment. And for some reason the AC unit in the guest bedroom was leaking and half the guest room and maybe a quarter of the living room was flooded. The carpet is mildewed and molded and it smells like an old basement every time I come "home". The laundry is SO expensive and one of our dryers don't dry because the bottom dryer's moisture travels upward. So you waste money drying twice. I also found out if you put the card in the washer before you make the selection it charges you double. Found that the hard way... The master bathroom literally had MOLD growing on all the walls and some sort of oily secretion was dripping down the walls and mo matter how much I'd wash it away it'd still come back. They've painted that bathroom 3 times already and it still comes back. All they say is turn on the fan and they HAVE to know that that obviously doesn't work because that's what we've been doing all the time we've been here. The ceiling is almost literally paper. Walking sounds like a raging elephant stomping around and stomping literally swings the hanging lights. The rings around the lights have actually toppled sideways from the loud neighbors stomping around and dropping things and jumping. I had neighbors that had two big rowdy dogs running around day in and day out and I would hear snoring like it was in the same room as me. I even heard them having sex.. Well they moved and now we have neighbors with a 3 year old running around and they vacuum 3-4 times a day. It's not as bad but ya know.. Maintenance is terrible. They take days to get to your unit and when they finally get to it they do a horrible job and it's broken again in a couple months. Sometimes they don't even do the right job. The staff is awful and unprofessional. My mom was in the clubhouse using the internet and she overheard them talking ---- about the residents. Saying along the lines of "I don't know why these people keep complaining. Why don't you just live in a house like everyone else??" SO unprofessional. And the clubhouse isn't even a place to hang out. Every time me and my friends, who are clearly over the age of 16, go there we get questioned like we're gonna bomb the place. I get their free coffee and one time they told me the coffee is "for the adults and I couldn't have any of it." I was 17 at the time. I can see if I was ya know 11. I was with my boyfriend and his little brother who was 15 and we had to fight to stay inside because they were gonna kick him out because he was under 16. It's ridiculous. My other friend was looking for sugar for the coffee in the cabinets and he got accused of stealing free coffee?? Needless to say I don't go to the clubhouse anymore.. It's too much of a pain to enjoy myself there.. Now that our lease is almost up we're requesting to move to another newer unit, this time upstairs, even though the price is still ridiculous. Living in Solon is impossible unless you have money. There's 3 apartment complexes but the other two are 10 times worse than Liberty Hill and the price is still ridiculous. There's barely any houses for rent and those are also high. You obviously need money to live here and you have to be a homeowner.. We have to stay until my sister graduates high school in a year. I wish we could live here but there;s not man options without paying a fortune.
