Brookfield Asset Management, a Toronto-based global investment giant purchased Forest City properties in December 2018. We can only hope that this company can assess the property here, make changes that are needed, improvements that are necessary, and review all contracted services - house keeping and lawn maintenance are 2 I know of. Add a snow removal contractor. Hire more maintenance workers and give them the proper tools and equipment to do the job. Ask the residents what they feel is necessary to have or fix at this complex by way of an anonymous questionnaire. They may be surprised to hear what residents have to say. This may take time but it would be worth it. For the most part it is a good complex to live at. The amenities are nice. Apartments are reasonable in rent however, are old and slowly being re-done, not fully renovated. Elevator repair/replace plan set up. Life Style Center recently built, however, very sparsely used - there are 2 fitness centers, a beauty salon, activities room. Maintenance does their best to fix issues in buildings quickly, however, they sometimes cannot as the do not have the expertise or tools and a specialist needs to be called in- examples: some plumbing, heating, painting, carpeting. Contracted services include: House Keeping(very poorly trained) and not enough to clean a 6 floor building's common areas; Land Scaping comes weekly for lawn mowing and skims off about 1 inch, if that, skirting across the lawns. Cutting 2-3 inches is a better way to go. They would only have to be here once a month! Plumbing contractor is called in at the discretion of on site management. Mostly quiet on my first floor with the exception of a few noisy children for a short time. What helps is the concrete ceilings/floors at each level and walls. Hardly ever hear above or next to my apartment. Draft issues - but we do need fresh air! All in all a good place to rent for the money. Hoping better things to come with the new company owner.
