Resident 2010

8/29/2012

I try to be very objective and fair when I review anything. I will be sure to include the good and the bad in my review. I am in my second year, here, and I must say that it has not been too bad of an experience, yet. First impression is that the units are VERY outdated. The outward appearance of the buildings is poor and there are lots of broken brick and cracked walls. Some units are more updated inside than others. We have a fairly outdated unit, with old generic cupboards and fixtures. However, the front office is VERY good here. They respond very fast to maintenance issues. They always follow up to make sure you are satisfied with the maintenance work. They take good care of the grounds. Weekly lawncare in the summer is very good. Excellent snow removal. Sometimes a bit late on salting the sidewalks for the few of us who live here and actually work early. But, they take better care of the apartment streets than many of the local side streets. This complex has flat roofs, and they have a tendency to leak. They always get someone on it, fast, but sometimes it just doesn't fix it. They are in the process of replacing roofs in many of the complexes. The swimming pool is nice and always guarded with a qualified life guard. It can get very crowded in the summer, as they have a difficult time enforcing the guest policy, and many of the questionable residents like to bring multiple friends over. It can be infuriating if you pay to rent here, and find out that half the people at the pool are not residents. This neighborhood is presently, fairly safe. Although, some other renters can make life hell. A few people like to party, throw trash all around the complex, and have lots of friends over who occupy all of the parking spots. There is very little real crime here. I feel safe letting the kids ride their bikes and play. I honestly worry that this complex is at the beginning of a downward slide. I am starting to see some sketchy folks moving in, and it has me wondering if they are turning this into a Public Housing development. The bottom line is that this is one of very few apartments in the Tallmadge school district. There aren't many places that are much better around here. The Staff is excellent and VERY responsive to needs. If they could update it a bit, and keep the ------ trash out, it could be a much nicer place.
