Pretty good place to live
We've been here for a year and have been pretty pleased with the building, staff and other tenants. PROS: - a lot of elderly renters makes for relatively quiet neighbors - the grounds are very well kept including the pool which is cleaned and treated daily - our 2bedroom apartment is a nice size and comfortably suits myself, my husband and our two young children - very nice laundry facility on the 3rd floor - all of our maintenance issues have been taken care of quickly - storage units located on the bottom floor - fully furnished apartment available for out of town guests for $50/night - Tallmadge is a lovely community with parks within walking distance - clubhouse available for parties and social functions - staff is relatively helpful and quick to respond - locked building with a call system at the front door - heat is included - they usually have a move-in special - allows pets - at least cats, I'm not sure about dogs CONS: - lead paint in the hallways and stairwells - though the laundry facility is nice and clean there are only 6 washing machines for the entire building - no security on site to deal with unruly tenants/noise and enforce rules but the Tallmadge police are close and respond very quickly - cream colored carpeting which makes it impossible to not have a stain no matter how careful you are - the plumbing is very loud - we often hear the screeching sound that pipes make when there is air in them both when we turn on our bathroom sink and when our neighbors use their bathroom sink. - the hardware and appliances aren't anything to get excited about - basic basic basic - they have move-in specials - which means that you might end up paying upwards of $100 more than the next person for essentially the same apartment - it also means that there is a very good chance that your rent will go up - the hallway by the garbage shoot is a little smelly - I would advise against getting an apartment on that side - not very wheelchair accessible - the only entrance the doesn't require the use of stairs is in the back by the dumpsters - call system at front door rings to your phone and not your apartment - not a terrible thing but a little annoying when you forget to turn your cell off of silent - though the grounds are well kept there is a lot of unused space between the buildings - it would be nice if there was play equipment for the residents with childrenShare This Review
