Resident 2010 - 2013

4/26/2013

I wanted to give an honest review for those looking to rent at Georgetown. My boyfriend and I have lived at Georgetown for almost three years. We personally have had our fair share of "problems" some issues with clogged drains, refridgerators not working, etc. However, everytime we have called maintenance they have either come out the same day or the day after to fix the problem. With the size of the community I would have to say that this is a pretty fair response time (considering there are only two maintenance people that I know of.) There have been three management groups that have come through during our residency and we have never had an issue with them, but we do: pay our rent on time, don't trash the place, and don't have loud parties. Therefore, we have no reason to not get along with management. Georgetown has a swimming pool, sand volleyball court, and there is a school behind with a playground as well. These may not be five star ammenities, but considering they are very nice. I have spent much time at the pool over the summer (yes it's not spotless, but who's pool is?) We have had a lot of neighbors moving in and out of our building and thankfully we have never had any issues. I truly think that the people living in your building really make or break your experience. Yes, cars do get broken into and (knock on wood)in three years my boyfriends or my car has never been broken into. It's as simple as this: keep valuables out of your car/out of sight. People won't have a reason to break in if you don't keep that stuff in plain sight in your car (use your common sense people!) The buildings are old, things are a little outdated, and the insulation isn't the greatest (but the property is almost 60 years old what do you expect?) Overall, we have had a positive experience living at Georgetown. The only reason we are leaving is because we have both graduated and want to upgrade our living situation a little bit. Basically, you get what you pay for. For us it was a cheap place to live while going to school and working part-time. If you want the five star ammenities you will be paying AT LEAST twice as much as you would with Georgetown.
