Resident 2008 - 2009

6/6/2009

There are so many problems with these apartments, that cold chills run down my spine thinking about it. Coming "home" to Park Club is not a happy thought. Many days, I would prefer to stay at work than to navigate around oblivious children on bikes, riding aimlessly through congested, trash-can-lined streets. If you like looking at large trash cans every day, then this is the place for you. The front office is non-responsive to complaints. I had a neighbor that I complained about 6-7 times because they had a dog they would leave at home for days on end that barked ceaselessly. At one point, I recorded the barking and sent the WAV file to the office's email address (never answered). The final straw was calling 911 when it sounded like our neighbor was beating his girlfriend mercilessly. I hardly call that "mature" living. I haven't had a decent night's sleep since I moved into this dump. The windows are drafty. Be prepared for huge gas bills in the winter months. I put the ever-popular (and very cosmopolitan) plastic sheet over the elegant bay window in the living room during the winter months. Never the less, the plastic wrap would actually bellow in and out with every slight breeze. I called maintenance to have them look at the thermostat, which always reads 80 degrees--no matter what the actual temperature was. He was unconcerned and said the airconditioning/heating seemed to be working. Nevermind that my problem was with the thermostat itself. If I was wrapped in a blanket in January, I can guarantee you it wasn't 80 degrees. I could go on-and-on about this place. Yes, it has two and half bathrooms and a garage--a plus, yes. The question you have to ask yourself is whether that justifies a year's worth of misery when you're living next to the Manson family, or some of their distant relatives. This place is baaaadd. To encapsulate: Lots of trash cans, zombie children with no parental control riding bikes in front of speeding cars with stereos turned up past the threshold of pain, drafty windows, grimy carpets, thoughtless neighbors (not all but most), and a front-office that is concerned only with money--not your peaceful, mature residence.
