We have lived here for about a year and a half and have dealt with Lindsey Management on several issues. The Christmas before last, I had Christmas dinner without a working stove or dryer thanks to Deer Run. They do not keep parts on hand for their appliances and are unable to fix them in a reasonable amount of time. Not to mention, they do not replace old appliances. Our dryer has cracked plastic inside that rips up clothing. The management is rude and unresponsive to customer service complaints, even on a corporate level. My most recent issue was that there were notices put on our door to either vacate near the end of he month or renew our lease. We were in the middle of closing on a house and were not sure whether it would close in time so we postponed contacting the office about this issue until after we were sure we would close in time. Yesterday, there was another notice which had a handwritten message added that we would lose our security deposit if we did not notify the office within 30 days of our move out date that we would be vacating. They waited to inform us of this until well after the thirty day mark, even though they had posted the notices about five times well before the thirty day mark and could have reminded us then. They clearly wanted to keep the security deposit at our expense and it was a very sleazy business move which they back up by saying that it was specified in the lease we signed a year and a half ago. Were they under a legal obligation to inform us? No. However, it shows that they clearly do not care about their tenants considering they could have reminded us about this and chose not to to keep $250. I spoke with both the office manager and with a corporate manager about the issue and they were rude and did not care. I asked if a new policy would be implemented to inform other tenants of this policy on the notices before the thirty day period and they said no. This company has no integrity or customer service skills and nobody should rent from them. I’m addition, the apartment is well known for cockroach issues as well as bedbugs. If I owned this company, I would be working harder to implement better customer service and hire managers that cared about the well being of their tenants rather than only caring about money and legal minimum requirements. If they understood basic principles of management they would understand that refunding the security deposit would cost them less than the negative reviews that will result from their lack of customer service, and I explained this to them, but they do not care.
