Resident 2006 - 2007

10/12/2007

There are absolutely no words to describe just how much my husband and I HATE living in these apartments. You can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do; whether it be the TV on at normal listening volume, stereos, showers, or conversations on the phone. We literally hear everything. The people that live behind us have a dog (which is not allowed) and turn on the TV or stereo to obnoxious volumes to cover their dog barking. It happens during the day and at night, when you call the leasing office to file a noise complain, they tell you they can't do anything during the day and you will have to wait until it is night time, and call the police. Like I REALLY want to listen to it all day, right? Going on, maintenance is horrible here. They show up whenever - without notice mind you - to "check" on something. We've had problems with maintenance coming into our apartment while we were out, and without leaving notice. One day our CD player was on when we came home, and another time there were nasty, greasy hand prints on our shower wall. We finally had the locks changed, and were told that we had to go to the office to pick up our new key, but I was home when the maintenance worker came to change the lock - and I got the key handed to me right there. Considering the fact someone was coming into our apartment - and they swear it wasn't maintenance, I could have potentionally been the person coming into the apartment, and they just handed me the new key. Not the brightest people work here. It's also kind of fishy when maintenance knows about problems with our apartment before we do, like our lock becoming jammed and not opening right. They say a worker order was put in, but not by us. It was probably the same sick freak coming into our apartment, aka maintenance. Besides battling maintenance workers that creep us out, we hate the people in the leasing office. When we went to renew the lease, they didn't ask for any ID. They also didn't ask for ID when my husband went to go and pick up his copy of the key (the same key I'd been given.) So the leasing office is likely to renew your lease AND hand out copies of your key, without you knowing. Besides being completely ignorant, they are VERY RUDE. They give you this "I'm-better-than-you" attitude everytime you go in there. The apartment isn't worth the $350 we pay each month. Just a couple of weeks ago, there was a drug raid in the building across from ours. I feel like I'm in an extended episode of COPS. **Just to warn you, don't get married in between the lease - otherwise they will harass you until you put your spouse on the lease, and nowhere in the lease does it say you have to do that** Also, beware that during OU football games, you can't get in or out of the complex, plus - people going to the game WILL park in the complex, even though signs are posted that say "Private Property" and the leasing office will DO NOTHING ABOUT IT.
