Resident 2013 - 2014

11/16/2014

Seemed great at first but quickly turned into the most disappointing apartment I've ever rented. Upkeep of the grounds was generally unsatisfactory (i.e. broken lights near common walkways left broken, garbage blowing around, dead tree stumps, grass littered with animal feces, pool and grilling common area poorly cleaned/maintained, etc.) The "workout room," which is often occupied by pets, small children and what I can only assume to be their babysitters, consists of two broken treadmills, two ellipticals, a couple of flat yoga balls, medicine balls, stained carpet, and a weight machine. When winter rolled around it became quite apparent that the insulation and window seals were insufficient. We had to keep the heat on around 80 just to keep the place acceptably warm and even then heat distribution was uneven leaving some rooms freezing (and I grew up in North Dakota). We notified the apartment and they basically shrugged it off. Pest control, which you will pay for, is a joke. There was multiple spider nests on light fixtures, under the stairs, and door frames including ours which I took care of myself. The complex is gated (or at least it is when one of the main gates aren't broken and left open which occurs often) and it needs to be because the surrounding area is more or less a slum. There is a very nice movie theater room in the main office which you can use for free. Or at least that's what they tell you unless you inquire more. It actually costs a hefty fee unless you use it during business hours so they can bring people in to show it off while you use it. You can count on your rent being well above average for what you're getting along with some large deposits on the side which probably will only increase in cost since they are currently building new buildings across the road (I wouldn't plan on getting any of that deposit back). We planned on living there for four years but decided to move prior to the one year mark. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone but if you end up staying here I genuinely hope you have a better experience than we. Regards.
