OVERPRICED and NOISY!!!

I have lived here for a few months and every day wish that we had decided to live somewhere else! If you can hear anything at all, do not move into these apartments. It sounds like the people that live above us are literally stomping around all day and all night. I know they are just walking normally but these places were built so cheaply that even normal walking sounds like a herd of elephants walking around above you. And we checked to see if the people above us were heavy (I dont' mean to be rude) but they are just average sized people. When they move a chair at their dining room table it sounds like they are IN OUR APARTMENT! When anyone is outside, you can hear them talking clear as day. And I can often hear my neighbors' music whenever they play it. The staff here will lie straight to your face to get you to sign the lease. We asked the staff how much our first electric bill would be to help us budget and she said she had never paid more than $70/month. We got our first bill and it was $150. This is all electric and no gas. I used to live in a 3 bed/2 bath house and my electric bill was around that amount on a bad month. This shows how poorly insulated and constructed these places are. We have asked the maintenance crew to fix several things, some of which they have, others they have not. If it is a VERY easy fix, they will do it. If not, then don't hold your breath. The paint on the walls is flat paint so stains easily and you cannot wipe off the stain. The materials they used were very cheap and not installed well, from the kitchen to the bathrooms to light fixtures. The cable guy said these apartments have the worst wiring he has ever seen. It is a "gated" community but my building is actually OUTSIDE the freakin' gate! How ridiculous is that? And it is definitely not in the greatest neighborhood, but if you stay in the "gates" we have never had any problems...knock on wood! The only redeeming quality this place has is the location. But if I had it to do all over again, I would pay LESS for a location not quite as convenient that had an honest, helpful staff and a place that was built much better. I would not recommend this place for the amount of money they are asking in rent.
