Resident 2005 - 2006

3/12/2008

I like this place. this is a medium-sized complex of 6 buildings. they are 3-story with sunken 1st level. upper units have balconies but the top level is not covered. so they are only useful in the summer. excellent sound insulation, nice landscaping, cool management, plenty of parking, easy access (not for long). it is located near a railroad crossing so the train whistles can happen at any time, some of them very loud. but as long as the windows are shut the trains are not disturbing. however, there are no ACs installed so in the frying summer the 2nd and 3rd level units can be very uncomfortable. u will need an AC. in the evenings i used to go for a drive in my ACd car until after midnight :-) another future issue is that the RR intersection and adjacent Harmony Road will undergo major expansion from a 2 lane road to a 5-lane highway interchange. so the quiet environment and low traffic won't last for much longer. most of the residents are decent working-class people. this is an affordable-housing community though, so there are a few recovering bums who like to invite their friends and party-hardy once in a while. sound insulation and ear plugs save the night. garages cost 65$ additional and fit a full-size car with room on both sides. on-site office hours are spotty. the management company is not involved in daily operations here, only in finances. (PHC property management, Portland Habilitation Center, etc.)
