Where do I start? First of all, the office staff had our move-in date incorrect by a day meaning that our carpets were "cleaned" the same day we moved our things in. Because the carpets were wet when we moved in, there was staining on the carpet which the apartments said was our responsibility to pay and took it out of our deposit.

When I complained and said it was not our fault, I called and talked with the manager, Stacy. She said shed work on it and get back with me at the end of next week. After several calls within the same month and refusal to talk with me, I finally asked to talk to her superior, who FINALLY refunded us the money we rightfully deserved.

The lock on our door broke meaning we could not lock the door. It was considered a "medium priority" and was not fixed until the evening.

We received several late notices when our rent had been paid in full and advance. When I called I was told to ignore the statement, but then I received another and called AGAIN. Again, she told me not to worry about it and it finally cleared up.

We also rented a garage to put some of our belongings in and park. The icing on the cake was when one day we came home and there was a motorcycle with Michigan plates parked in our garage! Someone in the office had given access to our garage to a new tenant. Um, hello! We had boxes and a washer and dryer in the garage! It was obviously occupied. We called the office emergency after hours number, but we were told parking issues were handled by the office staff the next day and was not considered an emergency. Well, to me, when someone who has complete access to your belongings is parked in your garage, that is an emergency. So we had to call the police who helped us. We also were not credited for the time we were not able to use the garage. Fools.

I cannot say how completely frustrated and sick I am with Brookdale Glen office staff and management. They are evil, fake, money hungry jerks. The apartments are old and falling apart. The utilities are very expensive because the appliances are old. And, as someone else mentioned, you are responsible for garbage, sewer, and water which will run you about $40/month.

Living at Brookdale Glen was a complete nightmare. Luckily we did a month-to-month option and only had to live there for two months. Do whatever you have to, but do not rent from Brookdale Glen. Move in with your parents or friends RUN AWAY FROM BROOKDALE GLEN unless you want to get totally screwed and be very unhappy.
