Resident 2016 - 2021

It used to be a great place to live but the mgmt is now obsessed with enforcing little rules and not with improving the living conditions for the tenants. They are unable to hire a good maintenance staff, after running off the amazingly wonderful old one. It is quickly going downhill. But the rent always goes up as much as possible, each time the lease comes up for renewal

As a current resident of Oak Hills Apartment I have to say I have loved living here up until 6 or 7 months ago. This complex has been a smoke free, signs where posted but now taken down, community for several years and was verbally informed that it's now not smoke free and tenets can smoke 25 feet away from the dwellings and even in their units. This has made me extremely upset and have spoke to the managers on multiple occasions about my concerns. My lease states it's a non smoking complex signed by me and the property managers themselves. If you like living in a place with smoke filling the air and cigarette butts scattered around, then this is the place for you. Also, it's a great place for you to park your broken down cars for months on end without having them towed.

I've lived here for many years. Management used to be great. Lately, it seems managers are being fired left and right and no one stays for more than 6 months. They used to be available everyday but now are only available certain days. Their signs show they'll be here and there till this time or that time but they usually leave early. One day I walked in to pay my rent and I saw a buttload of parcels from UPS, Amazon, USPS, you name it, all over the office. Apparently they've been so unavailable no one was able to get their shipments! It's so sad that it's almost funny. They are jacking up rates as much as $200 a month (almost $1,000 for just 1 bedroom), making you pay more fees, etc. Time to move. Don't bother moving here. If you're stupid enough to move here even after reading this, make sure you get ready for the skunk smells that can sometimes be nightly in the summer months.

I have lived in Oak Hill apartments for 10 months now and would not recommend it. I have lived in 3 different apartment complexes and this one I have to say is the worst by far. If you work night shift, you can really sleep here. No a/c, windows have to be open, kids and adults running up and down stairwell constantly and neighbors smoking illegal drugs and my kids can smell it through the windows. But that is MINOR to what is my major complaint. There was a murder in my complex and police questioning us and the manager REFUSED to tell us why!!! When it happens below me, my family could hear the screams and the management refuse to step in and police is outside our windows and the dude didn't get arrested for 2 weeks. NOT COOL IN MY BOOKS. Say what you want, but its the truth. They obviously don't do background checks close enough.

New management is awful! Stay away!

I lived at Oak Hills for many years. Best apartments I had ever lived in. The staff was awesome and so friendly. This was until the new manager was hired. Since then things have changed greatly. She is rude, unfriendly, disrespectful and if you have children I would look somewhere else, she DOES NOT like children. She screams through her window in summer at the kids in pool for laughing to loud. I don;t even have children and I am discussed by here behavior and attitude towards them. She talks bad about tenants to other tenants which is very unprofessional and inappropriate. She also drives through the complex with her Rap music blasting so loud it can be heard 2 buildings down. I would not recommend Oak Hill to anyone and I so wished they had replaced her because I would have loved to stay.

Great Living BUT..Totally underhanded business practices.

I liked the apartments, neighbors and the management. When my husband and I moved out we were sad to go, but we bought our first home. We moved out, had our final walk through and everything was great. THEN..Months later the management changed and all of a sudden we get a bill almost 5 months after we move out for carpet repair. How is it that 5 months later and coming from someone who wasn't even employed there when we moved out to "hey heres your bill" I find this management team to be totally underhanded in their business practices and I hope they don't do this to more people.

              My 2 cents....

I love it here. I have been here for just over 2yrs and am finally seeing some major improvements. New management has made some serious improvements, as far as I am concerned. Noise levels have greatly improved and there is always somebody in the office. This lady seems to take her job a lot more seriously than I have ever seen in an apartment landlord. I just wanted to to let anyone who is interested in being my neighbor know that this is a "no baloney" set up and if you are a total loser skip this place cause this gal is paying attention. No, she did not put me up to this, No I don't work for her....blah blah blah. I am just grateful and willing to share it.

                A wonderful place to live

Our experience at Oak Hill was exemplary. The apartments and grounds are kept up very well and management and maintenance are always quick to respond. The other tenants are generally clean and upstanding, and the location is great. If we hadn't just purchased a condo, we would honestly be happy living here several more years. The former manager (Lee) was awesome, and we'll miss having someone as reliable as him to go to. The rest of the staff we've worked with have been just as terrific. I can't recommend this complex enough. It is worth noting that this is the second property we've rented from Tokola Properties (Alpine Meadows in Gresham) and both have been great experiences.

                  awesome apartment

I lived here for about 5 years and finally moved out after buying a house. I've lived in about 7 different apartments since leaving home for college. This is by far the best apartment I've lived in. The Bethany area has the best school district in Portland so people that live here tend to be respectable professionals. There is no playground, so there aren't rowdy kids running around creating noise. The managers are friendly and they are always prompt in handling service requests.

You'll love this place if you like really loud neighbors

I have lived at Oak hill apartments for a year now and HATE them. When we moved in, we told the leasing lady that we did not want to live next to noisy neighbors as we had a bad experience with noisy neighbors where we moved from, and she reassured us that we would be moving into the apartment area that had no noise whatsoever. When we were looking at the apartment, I could already hear the neighbors downstairs, but the lady reassured us that they were really quiet. I should have stuck with my gut feeling and not moved in. From the first night we were in the apartment to the last day, the neighbors have been the loudest people I have ever had the misfortune of living next to. They live underneath our unit and you would swear they were above us with the way our apartment shakes from their constant slamming things around, their kids running constantly and slamming things, their constant yelling at each other (which they do outside in front of the apartment also), their continuous door slamming and their constant stomping up and down the stairs as loudly as they possibly can. We have… See More>

                      finally found it

at oak hills, the staff is awesome and responsive and the rentals are quiet, clean and safe!! have asked for more help from the staff than i should have--in addition to immediately helping, they never bat an eye... they check my smoke detector in the vaulted ceiling since it requires s super ladder and they even leave packages delivered by fedex, ups, or usps, if i ask them to, inside my front door??!! glad i finally found that good place to live

                        Apartment made for living in

I've lived here for about a week and I'm still blown away at how great my apartment is. The kitchen is incredibly huge for a 1 bedroom; there are cupboards everywhere! I also have a 1 tub kitchen sink which is a major plus in my book. They do not have the baseboard heaters; they have the newer style where it takes up very little of your wall so it saves money when you're heating. They don't waste space and charge you extra for a stupid fireplace. The bedroom is kind of awkward with the size of my furniture. The majority of one wall is dedicated to the closet so you can't really put something in front of that. Part of another wall is pushed out about a foot and a half (where the window is) so once it gets hotter, that will be the perfect place to have my standing air conditioner. But this just leaves my queen sized bed and my 8 foot long dresser to be next to each other. It just makes the bedroom seem lopsided to me but that's such a minor thing. I have the stackable washer and dryer which I haven't had before but I'm only one person… See More>

                          Great Place!

I honestly can't say enough good things about the Oak Hill Apartments. I've lived here for 9 months and my brother lived here for about two years and recommended the apartment to me. The staff themselves make the apartment worth it. Every maintenance request I have made has been answered within an hour or I receive an email within 10 min letting me know that someone will stop by that day. The maintenance staff will also follow-up if I see them around to make sure that the problem has been solved. They also have no problems with replacing appliances if the need arises. The apartment is in a great neighborhood that is safe to walk/run in and close to several stores. The only negatives so far is the extra parking - my building is tucked back in the corner, so sometimes extra parking can be kind of difficult, but as far as I know, the other buildings have fairly substantial parking. We also can hear the little kids downstairs on occasion, but I work nights and sleep during the day and it hasn't kept me up yet! In perspective, it's nothing compared to other… See More>

                            Amazing place to live!

My boyfriend and I have lived here since mid 2005 and have no complaints. The staff is friendly and knows everyone by name/apt number, when we have had any maint. problems, they are there within the hour to fix it (we have had only minor problems). We have not seen any crime nor disturbances, and the apts are pretty large compared to alot of others we've seen. The only drawback is that rent is slowly increasing due to the nice neighborhood (it's directly across from a golf course) and the booming housing development. We didn't ever hear our neighbors until just recently and even then its few and far between. I would recommend this place to anyone! The staff alone is worth it... we hope to live here for quite sometime

                              Wonderful place to live...

I originally wrote this review in 2006. I have moved out since and live in Wilsonville. Finding an aparment even half as decent as Oak Hill is next to impossible in the Wilsonville/Tualatin area. I am so frustrated I just needed to come back and remember how well I had it at Oak Hill lol Pros: Everything is great. The maintenance crew are 2 brothers that are always on top of things. You can fill out a work order for them online and they come knocking that same day if not the next! I am VERY impressed with them. There was a miscommunication between myself and the apartment manager in which I misread a flier offering a special. He sat down with me and we investigated it further to which I found I may have made a mistake. This shows the manager cares a great deal about his residents and is willing to take an extra step to solve issues. Cons: The work-out room is a bit outdated, but their elliptical machine is superior to those in most gyms.

                                Loved Oak Hill

I lived here and loved it! I even moved at one point to the another complex in the area cuz they had a 'special' and realized they have 'specials' for a reason. Oak Hill is quiet, neat, safe and well made. Their age was showing in their decor only- could use some updating. The staff was great. Previous manager was really nice, but the new one is more attentive and the office is always open. Grounds are beautiful, location is ideal, pool area clean and quiet and the price is great for what you get. The clubhouse decor needed updating- first impression is important.

                                  Great place to live

I have been living here for almost a year after living in several larger complexes in the Tanasbourne area. I have a two bed/bath which is the perfect size, great layout and my patio backs to woods so there is virtually no noise. I do hear some noise from other apartments but nothing that is out of control. These are older but nicely updated and tons of storage. All my maintence requests have been done promptly and done well. The office staff is super nice and so are the grounds staff. They even brought my packages into my apartment this winter so I didn't have to carry them in. Included in rent is water, sewer, garbage and cable. Where else can you find that? The pool is nice and clean, the workout center is lacking and the equipement is old but its free so you can't really complain. Plus you get your own covered spot for free too. If you are looking for a nice quiet friendly place to live than this is it!

                                      A wonderful place to live

I highly recommend this community. The apartments are in excellent condition, with an open, comfortable floor plan. The one bedrooms are very large (especially compared to most other one bedroom apts). The office staff was courteous and efficient, and the maintenance staff was prompt and professional. The area is set back from most major roads, and is virtually silent during the day and night. It is located in a beautiful residential community with close proximity to grocery stores and easy access to the 26 freeway. Pets are not allowed here, but if that is not an issue for you, then you will love living here!
