I moved here fresh out of college and I could not have made a better decision. It is a really nice place to live and I enjoy the convenience of the location. Whether you are working in the city, out in lancaster, up in plymouth meeting, or even in NJ, there are major roadways and the popular R-5 train right up the street (hence the term "main line"). First I had a one bedroom, but we upgraded to a two bedroom when I got married. The apartment is huge, bigger than some of my friends' overpriced condos. Everything is included in the rent. Yes, it is expensive, but last time I checked it was the mainline. YOu will not find a better place to live for the money around here though. Manager and security are warm and friendly. The place is built like a fortress. It was built in the 60s and you will not find a place with more brick and concrete making it extremely quiet. Just try and drill a hole in the wall and you will see (I had to borrow my father's mason bit drill). Complaints include overpriced cable internet that the building supplies...just get the cheaper dsl and you will be fine. Also, fresh bagels in the coffee shop downstairs would be nice. All in all, it has been a blast. University City Housing have been easy to deal with and they are responsive to your concerns if you have any. There are a number of businesses on the first floor that add to the professionalism of the place. The central air in the summer is nice and the pool staff are awesome! Move in and enjoy yourself. Previous reviews are correct about the wide variety of people who live here. Everyone is very respectful and considerate (some people slam their doors inadvertently, but that isn't so bad). When I first moved here it was more of a senior citizen population. Unfortunately, a lot of those good people have passed on, but the new graduate students and young families are great. Trust me, I'm a doctor and you will not be disappointed.
