Morgan Properties recently bought Marchwood and promptly installed awful floodlights that blare into the bedroom windows of the opposing apartments all night. If you are a prospective tenant visiting Marchwood during the day I expect you wouldn't even know it so take my advice: don't live here if you want to sleep at night. It is so bright I can read in my bedroom at night just from the floodlights. They recently replaced them with slightly less bright lights (the rumor is that the original lights violated Town ordinance) but the new ones are still nearly as bad. And now there are even more new exterior lights coming to every individual porch and balcony (that tenants have no ability to turn off). With all the bright lights coming from all directions and no way to turn them off I feel like I'm in an interrogation room. In my view, this is a bad way to treat people. Sorry Marchwood, I'm moving out because I'm not paying (ever-increasing...) rent on a bedroom I can't sleep in. And with your new balcony lighting it sounds like I won't be able to sleep in my living room either. Based on the Marchwood management's response to other reviews on this website, I wouldn't be surprised if Marchwood management comments on this post by saying sorry for the inconvenience and then highlight all the other new "improvements". If they do comment that way, let me preemptively respond: First of all, the "improvements" so far have been, in my view, superficial and irritating (the nuisance floodlights were one of the "improvements"). My advice to any prospective tenant is to consider this: If you can't sleep in your apartment at night then do any of the other "amenities" really matter?
