Apartment wasn't ready on move-in. Friedman Realty Group went above and beyond to make things right. We were scheduled to move-in to Willowyck apartments on Saturday 9/15 at noon. The day of, we got a call saying the apartment wouldn't be ready until 3pm, but it actually wasn't until 4pm that we were able to see the apartment. We were appalled by the conditions. There was unfinished patch and paint work, broken closet doors, old furniture and trash on the patio, no light fixtures, no transition between tile and carpet, AND the plumbing for the sinks was incomplete so no running water. It was definitely not move-in ready. The assistant property manager, Caitlin Anthony, was extremely apologetic and explained that their contractors let them down. Obviously we were frustrated and disappointed. Moving is already stressful enough, but to go through all that effort and ultimately not have a place to live was a tough pill to swallow (not to mention we'd have to do it all again). Luckily we didn't have to stay at a hotel as we were able to return to our previous residence. Monday morning we talked to the Vice President, David Friedman, who was very understanding. He gave us a few options. In the end we decided to move to an entirely new apartment unit, and we were very fairly compensated for the inconvenience. The entire time leading up to our new move-in date, the regional property manager, Amanda Davis, ensured that everything was on schedule and updated us regularly. We've now been in our new place almost a week, and have been very happy and satisfied so far. Friedman Realty Group wasn't really legally obligated to do much of anything, but we sincerely appreciate that they took the time and effort to listen to our story, apologize profusely, and take the necessary steps to make this situation right. We look forward to staying here as valued residents at Willowyck Apartments.
